Perfect location!
Less than 10 min walk to the Cardiff Central Railway Stsation a just crossing the street and you’re in the City Center shopping Center , loads of coffee shops , restaurants and less than 10min walk to the Castle.
Being in Center , easy access to pick up points for day trips j. Clean , relatively new building, comfortable bed and pillows , huge room and the price not bad for such location
Didn't think much staff were not very helpful l, carpet innthe room was not only dirty but a massive crease running down last the middle, doors kept slamming shut all night which kept me awake.
Bed was ok and shops were close by
Location is excellent, everything else is poor. Staff inattentive, shortages and lack of choice for breakfast. Rooms dated and basic. There was a fire alarm in the middle of the night and seemed to have a lack of direction from staff on evacuating. Key card was deactivated on two different occasions after returning to the room meaning a trip back to reception to fix it. Disappointing hotel!
Only stayed there one night so can’t really comment on the amenities as I didn’t use them. I was staying on the 21st floor which in itself wasn’t an issue but when you get back from a night out and large party of people are waiting for the lifts of which there are 2 it took a good 10 minutes or so to get to my room. I put this down to bad timing. The following morning I called the lift. It came up to the 20th floor then went back down again so I effectively had to wait for the other lift and endure all the subsequent stops on its journey to the ground floor. My recommendation if looking to book here is request a room on the lower levels. Other than that the room and bed were comfortable and the staff were friendly.
Only stayed one night, room was clean & shower room was a good size space. Staff we met were very helpful. Did not have an evening meal at the hotel but had breakfast and the restaurant seemed very spacious. The location was great if going into the city as it’s a 2 minute walk.
The location was excellent and the price made it a very reasonable option. The room was clean, and although I did have to change rooms due to a broken air conditioning unit, this was handled without disrupting my sleep or overall stay too much.
Parking was straightforward once I realised you need to drive right up to the shutters to access the intercom for entry.
That said, the hotel does feel a little tired in places. The carpets in the rooms could do with updating, and unfortunately I had forgotten slippers so really noticed the flooring underfoot.
One frustration was the lack of bottled water available either in the room or to purchase at the bar. When I asked at reception/bar, I was offered a glass of tap water to take upstairs, which wasn’t particularly practical, and I ended up having to leave the hotel to walk to a nearby shop.
During my stay the hotel didn’t appear particularly busy, although staff mentioned they had been rushed off their feet. Breakfast was adequate overall, but the scrambled eggs were honestly some of the worst I’ve ever tried.
Overall, this hotel served its purpose as a budget-friendly stay in a great location for the city centre. I would stay again if cost was the deciding factor, but would probably pay a little more for somewhere with a fresher feel and better amenities.
