"Booked the Gwbert Hotel for a 2 night stay before and following a Register Office marriage in Aberystwyth. The room and food were excellent. However, the hotel was informed weeks before our arrival, that the stay would be to celebrate our marriage. Unfortunately, on arrival the staff denied any knowledge of being notified of our event, and even when made aware made no effort or gestures to acknowledge our big day. The marriage details were clearly given to the hotel when the booking was made online and followed up with by phone. Shockingly, we were made to prove the phone call by showing our call log!! We gave the staff every opportunity to rectify their oversight, but still no gesture to make our stay special was made.
The hotel is clearly not prepared or able to deal with special occasions which was extremely disappointing."
"Very comfy bed and delicious breakfast. Onsite parking was a bonus (but as noted by the hotel - beware the narrow entrance). Very well situated with local restaurants and pubs very close. Recommend ‘Cwrw’ for a pint or two."
"Checked in but Room wasn’t ready when I went to room.
Came down and given another room which was ready but there was bad smell.
I asked receptionist to do something to get rid of bad odour."
"I loved staying here! Such helpful staff, and a gorgeous room with the comfiest bed. Great location, and has a charming pub with great food (loved the crab risotto). Made to order breakfast with lots of options including vegetarian. One thing to note - my room’s window was over the front door and things get a little rowdy outside on weekends - nothing my air buds couldn’t drown out. Would highly recommend!"
"From check in to check out my trip was great, the location, the staff, the locals and the other guest made my trip memorable.
Thanks again to all the staff at The Harbourmaster. X"
"If you like Travelodge formica probably not for you. Older property with varnished skirtings and painted furniture but immaculately kept and spotlessly clean. The owners’ attention to detail is second to none, has everything you need, good shower and not stingy with the coffee supplies. Pleasant dining room and nice bar area, freshly cooked breakfast as recommended by many others. Even has effective cctv covering the carpark (we have a soft top car). Would happily stay here again."
"The room was clean and spacious, with an extra bed provided. The toilet was also clean. However, the Wi-Fi was not working during our stay, and the bedside lamps were not in working condition. Apart from these issues, it was a nice and comfortable stay overall."
