Superb Hotel
This is a fantastic hotel for our stopover on the way to Costa Blanca. They even stored our bikes. Great dinner too. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Great to return here again šŸ˜Š
Weā€™ve stayed here numerous times, ideal half way journey for us from the Costa Blanca North to the ferry terminal at Bilbao. First time back since 2019 due to covid and itā€™s great to see that this hotel still has the same high standards in all areas, and the restaurant serving a wholesome, tasty menu del dia with wine for ā‚¬12. Highly recommend.

Overall a great place for a night over en route to southern Spain from UK. Beware if using Google maps for navigation as it will take you to a field in the middle of nowhere about 14 kms from the hotel if using the address given on hotels.com description. Instead use the map given on the hotels own website ..... Great home cooked food at a ridiculously low price !!!!

Bedroom and bathroom spotless. Didnā€™t sleep very well, bed rock hard and neither hubby nor myself like the long sausage pillows buy hey thatā€™s something to expect in Spain. What let our stay down was having to breakfast in the cafe and not the dining room. The cafe was full of noisy truckers so impossible to hear each other. Breakfast consisted of orange juice and coffee which we had to queue at the counter for and a half a baguette toasted which was brought to our table with butter and jam. This was the let down but all in all it was a good choice for a half way stop on our way to the costas.

Good hotel and food after a long journey.
We stay in this Hotel 3 or 4 times a year enroute from the ferry in Santander to the Costa Blanca. Its a very good typical spanish hotel. Always busy, always exceent and very reasonable and good food. I would definitely recommend it. It is only a very short distance from the main motorway which is very important with a long journey. Good rooms lovely hot water and central heating which is good in the winter after a long trip. It would also be good for anyone who wanted to see this excellent wine area and all the bodegas.

Excellent place to unwind after a long drive
This hotel is primarily a lorry drivers overnight stopover but don't let this put you off. The double glazing worked well and we were not disturbed by the early departure of some lorries. Our room was clean, spacious and warm with a comfortable bed and good bathroom facilities (nit picking, but an extra chair for the balcony would have been useful). All the staff we met were pleasant and helpful. An excellent value evening meal was served by very efficient and friendly waitresses. The town centre (a five minute walk away), is pleasant though not exceptional and has many bars, a good range of shops - and a HUGE old church. The region is a wine growing area and the town has several respected bodegas. Good local wines are served with the evening meal and are available to buy in the hotel.

Affordable and decent hotel
We stayed at the Hotel Carinena for two nights in November. It was easy to find. It is located just outside the town, in an area with many bodegas. The man at reception did not speak English, but he tried to be helpful, and followed us to the room to be sure we knew how to make the lights work. We wanted a double bed, but our room had two twins. I tried to ask for just one bigger bed, but he indicated they did not have any, so we made do. The price was very reasonable, the room was clean and had a small balcony overlooking the surrounding hills. This hotel has a bar that seems to be very popular with the locals. We stopped there before dinner for a glass of wine and some pintxos, which were delicious, and very inexpensive. The hotel also has a restaurant, and we had a very nice dinner there our first night. We had the menu del dia, which offers several choices, and was only 11.50 euros each including a bottle of decent wine. Excellent value. Breakfast is also included, and is served in the bar, which was filled each morning with locals. It definitely seemed to be the place to go. The center of the town is close, and easy to get to. If you are interested in wine tasting there are several bodegas nearby. If you are stopping in Carinena the Hotel Carinena is a decent, very affordable place to stay, with a good bar and restaurant.

This is at least our 4th visit to this hotel. Perfect overnight stop en route to UK for the Summer from costa Blanca. Standards at this hotel have remained constantly good and we will return again.
