"This hotel is in an excellent location in Keswick and the staff were very helpful. The bar area was large and relaxing.
However, the room, apart from the carpets, was tired and needed refurbishment.
There was a black mould around the wooden windows. The shower unit was yellow with age. Even the toilet paper was thin and cheap.
The breakfast was adequate, but the orange juice in particular, was like coloured water.
Given the much higher price compared to local b&bs, we were disappointed with the overall experience."
"The room was super spacious, very clean and lovely and airy on a really hot day. The bed and pillows were really comfy and the room was surprisingly quiet considering the hotel is next to the motorway. We had a lovely warm welcome and it was so handy for Gretna and access to Scotland. We'd stay again any time."
"The two issues we had were -
Hotel staff very noisily recycling empty bottles at 5:50am the first morning waking us both up
Bedroom blinds weren’t very effective at keeping sunshine out and bedrooms were very light by 6am"

"Disappointed with the standard of my room. I had the opportunity to upgrade from a standard room to an executive room. I have previously stayed in a standard room before, but I really struggled to see the different between a standard and an upgraded executive room. The bathroom was extremely outdated and the woodwork panelling was pretty poor. The carpets were threadbare, and on closer inspection, I could see a white creepy crawly coming from the carpet. I really wish I hadn't upgraded"
