A lovely venue - the rooms had been carefully designed and well finished and the bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were really friendly and the food of a high standard.

The location is excellent and the staff superb. My room was a bit time worn, but quiet and clean for a great night's sleep. Just a few steps to great cafés and restaurants. Definitely visit Bordo Lounge!

Great area and a nice looking historic building. Front desk was helpful and kind. It was clean and had some great amenities. Only negative is there is not a fridge in the room which wasn’t a big deal for us but it is something to be aware of!

Surprisingly large hotel. Lovely helpful staff. Good breakfast. Right in the centre of Carlisle. Close to Cathedral. Parking was available for us but is somewhat limited so don’t rely on it. City centre was having a makeover so immediate surroundings were chaotic. Sound insulation in the room was poor.

Great hotel. Loved the look amd feel. Food at the restaurant was very good. Prices were reasonable. The rooms are small and on the older side but clean. Loved the vibe and old feel.of the hotel. Would happily stay again. Carlisle was an unexpected gem.

Booked for one night for a work night out. The building is lovely and ideally located near the city centre, though there are major construction works happening outside. The room was adequate, with a nice powerful shower, but there were signs of mould and it could use some updating. The staff, especially the night porter, were very helpful and made our stay more pleasant.

Old hotel, creeky floor boards but to be expected. Lots of nice historical features too but clean and updated. So handy for shopping and places to eat, but the hotel menu looked very good and fair priced. We went to music venu 2 minutes walk away in the evening. Quiet at night even with our bed room facing the main square. Would stay again

Rooms were not very big, and the place was a bit dated. But the staff were nice and it was clean. Conveniently located to the Town Square, which was being renovated while we were there. Would like to come back and see it when it's finished!
