Independent, Carlsbad North hotels

"The staff was friendly. The room was clean and recently remodeled, but there was a hole in the bathroom wall and the TV didn't work. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were small. Breakfast was decent. It was an impromptu place to stay to get to Carlsbad Cavern early the next morning. I wouldn't want to spend more than a night there "

"This hotel is in the middle of a remodel so that should make it better. Rooms were $300 a night for two nights middle of the week. Our not yet remodeled room was not worth $300. The room had very little counter space and no suitcase stands and the front desk couldn't find any. Like most hotels the room didn't have enough hooks to hang things like used towels or jackets. Size of the room was good and the hotel is pet friendly. It is a 20 minute drive from here to Carlsbad Cavern National Park."
