"Carmel River Inn is so charming! Even though it has been renovated and modernized, it still has some of that quaint mid-century aesthetic, making it a unique and historic place to stay. We stayed in the hotel portion, and loved that we had a private balcony facing the Carmel River- very scenic! The proximity to Highway One has pros and cons. There's a little noise during the day, but it's very quiet at night. The hotel is at a nice crossroads, making it easy to access Big Sur as well as Carmel, Monterey and Carmel Valley. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well. We would definitely stay again!"

"We stayed here for two nights with our family of four, including our four-year-old with special needs and a newborn, and overall we had a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcomed and well cared for. Lorena at the front desk was incredibly helpful, kind, patient, and knowledgeable. When we noticed that our original room had a very strong cleaner smell, we spoke with Manager Jessica, who was absolutely amazing. She was prompt, accommodating, and quickly arranged for us to be moved to a new room. She even went the extra mile by bringing our family a thoughtful gift, which was such a kind and personal touch. Throughout our stay, staff regularly checked in with us via text message and phone calls to make sure everything was going well and to see if we needed anything. They truly went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and satisfied. Housekeeping was also excellent—very prompt and attentive. Each day they made sure we had everything we needed, from fresh towels and coffee to keeping the room spotless. Anytime we called for something, they were quick to respond and deliver. The rooms and the hotel itself are beautiful. The room was very well stocked with thoughtful amenities, including great-tasting coffee, a fully stocked bathroom with wonderful-smelling shampoo, body wash, and lotion, plus toothbrushes, toothpaste, a hair dryer, plush towels, comfortable robes, and hotel slippers.
