"Overall we enjoyed our stay very much. The room was spacious, pretty well furnished and clean. Dinner and breakfast was not exceptional but OK. However the biggest pluses were the tranquil location overlooking Loch Feochan and the staff. From arrival to departure every member of staff we encountered was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and professional. Tom needs to be singled out for being exceptionally helpful when we discovered a tyre puncture on departure. He helped us to source and arrange for a replacement and fix. despite missing our lunch appointment, the hotel is hardly a bad place to spend an extra 90mins. Very highly recommended."
"The room was fantastic we paid for a king with a sea view, we had a really busy day and thought staying here would be great, we arrived and the pool was closed we were not told during the booking this was the case, when it came to dinner the ordering was made really difficult with staff confusing what was going on, the food we ordered was put on another table,
Looks great and the food is nice but the service from some of the bar and restaurant staff is somewhat lacking
Probably wouldn't stay again "
"The water in the shower was tepid at best. Apparently they had the boilers replaced recently, they told us, but the shower was poor.
Kettle had a massive dent in it. The replaced kettle only worked when placed on the electricity supply at just the right angle.
All the furniture in the room was cheap and tacky faux oak laminate where the oak was peeling off.
An electricity cable was taped to the walls up the stairs.
Basically you have to wonder why they bother to keep the hotel going. It’s in need of huge refurbishment and gives off the opinion of why are they continuing to bother offering accommodation. Very surprised it’s on the Hotels.com listing of venues to sleep. If I was Hotels.com I’d remove it as it damages their reputation. "
"Fab wee hotel with onsight parking. Room was spotless. Tea and coffee making facilities with bottled water and biscuits replenished every day. Fresh towels every day and housekeeping staff were so helpful and chatty. Hotel is situated on main road into Oban town centre. They have a beautiful bar area which is very quiet and would benefit from offering evening meal. Overall a wonderful stay. This is our fourth stay here and will most definitely be returning. "
