"Welcomed by a beautiful couple that were very helpful upon arrival. Drove in the dark and the husband was so kind to step out of Casa de Retoño to assist me and guide where to park and unload. He actually took my rental and parked it in a safe place. The location does't have a parking lot. But he made a point to make sure my car was safe. I stay on the second floor in room "Chiapas" it was quietly tucked away and so peaceful. As I was traveling alone visiting my family in the surrounding towns. I was completely comfortable. I really liked and safely of the property 24hrs around the clock. Just 6 min walk to the main square was a BIG plus!!!! I would definitely stay here again when I return. Bonus I enjoyed a home cooked traditional meal every morning with his lovely wife. Lovely conversation and a shared a nice cup of coffee. She was very pleasant to talk to and extremely very informational on tip around the area. I love plants and the place is surrounded with plenty of oxygen with gorgeous plants. Hasta la próxima! Rosa"

"I lived in Mexico in the 70’s and have stayed in dozens of Mexican hotels . The Santo Santiago rates among the best ever . The hotel was a “Casona” , grand old house , and has been meticulously restored as a 20 room hotel. The staff is beyond friendly and the hotel is spotless. If you are a 5 star hotel type of person , this hotel is probably not for you . But if you want a5 star experience and truly want to experience genuine Mexican hospitality , book this hotel ASAP"
