"We arrived in Bologna by train for a 2-night stay and the Starhotels Excelsior was a great place to land. The hotel is directly across the street from the train station and within a 20 minute walk to the center of town, which made it ideal for our needs. The front desk staff were helpful and efficient, and the room was spacious - you could walk around without tripping over suitcases - with a comfortable bed. Also, it was very quiet inside the room - any noise from the street below did not reach inside our room. The hotel was a basic place to stay for a couple of nights and met our needs perfectly."

"Overall experience very good and would stay there again. Room was spacious, though second bed could have had a better/thicker mattress, my son is larger in stature and kind of struggled with such a thin mattress, or maybe foam a better description."

"The location was great only 5 min walk from Piazza Maggiore, and lots of amenities nearby. Staff were helpful. My room was clean, but the carpets in the main common areas look like they are the same age as the building. That would be my only criticism. Otherwise, for the price it was a pretty basic hotel that did the job."

"I booked a private room, which was spacious, quiet, and comfortable. Using your phone to access the room can be a little tricky if youโre travelling without cellular service or data, but the staff will also provide you with a code that can be used to enter your room, as well as access the front door and elevator after hours. There are secure lockers available to rent, along with laundry facilities for an additional charge. I didnโt take advantage of the breakfast option, but it looked quite good. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the lounge and bar area were comfortable and well maintained. The location is excellent for anyone looking to stay close to the train station and the main sights, with plenty of restaurants and cafรฉs within easy walking distance. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable, comfortable stay in a convenient location. I would also be happy to check out their other locations if the opportunity presents itself."
