Fantastic property, lovely big room (we were in the family room), easy check in process, heaps of parking, walking distance to town. Perfect for a weekend getaway :)
I was excited to have booked this lodge but unfortunately was also glad to leave. The carpet throughout the lodge had not been vacuumed for sometime, the bathroom was very, very small and the lodge could do with some TLC. The saving grace was that the sheets/towels were clean.
A nice original period building with character. The bed could have been more comfortable and in room 14 there was an irritating clicking sound that went on throughout the night....
Have stayed in other places in Castlemaine but like this best. Staff are welcoming and helpful while location is central to everything. Rooms were clean and inviting. Will stay there again, soon.
Love the old world charm, our room was nice and toasty when we arrived as it was cold outside. Clean neat and tidy. Staff very friendly, who gave great recommendations of places to see and places to eat. Will go back again.
The room was welcoming, clean and fresh. It was a quaint little motel with character. Ideal for a short overnight stay. Check-in and Check out was easy.
We will definitely stay again when in town.
Wonderfully comfortable place to stay. Convenient to the delights of Castlemaine. Jan was a warm friendly and helpful hostess. Terrific value for a top motel. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in area.

I had a lovely stay at Campbell St Lodge. The accommodation is simple but with lots of ye olde charm. The check-in process is automatic (with a code) so it's super easy. It's also perfectly located in beautiful Castlemaine. Great little hotel for a great price.
Great location, historical building with some period details. Spacious room and bathroom, with added in room facilities is microwave which was a bonus.

This property is very cheap - and for a reason. The room was dirty, bathroom tiny, and I am a small woman. Tired decor, random piped music playing all night in the corridor. Would not go back and would not recommend it.

We slept at the Motel while we had some renovations done at home a block away and could not use our bedroom. We had booked for 5 nights but because of delays we extended night by night for another four and were given a special rate. No-one came into the room, though we were asked if we wanted any supplies. I also used the room for a post-prandial sleep each afternoon. The heating system was excellent and an extra heater had been put in for us which was great for warming pyjamas. The shower was brilliant:the hot water was the correct temperature and no cold was needed. There was a microwave and a toaster, but we had no occasion to use it. There were two single beds in the main room and another in a separate room off the kitchen.

Thank you staying with us and very happy we could accommodate you.
We also hope that the termite situation at your house has been resolved .
Thanks Again Campbell st Lodge
This is an old house so you shouldn't expect modern features. We really appreciated its vintage and the way it fits into the Castlemaine history. The bedroom was comfortable and spacious with a modern bathroom attached. No breakfast was available but we knew about great cafes very close by.
My room was next to a busy road, so no chance to sleep in. Also, my room shared a wall with the kitchen, so the banging and crashing of plates and pots and pans was not an attractive feature of the stay.

Quaint clean property. The bed needs a soft top underlay.

Easy walking distance to town. Great price, just old and run down. But for the price Im not complaining. Would stay there again.

For me it lacked toiletries and no tissues. Old heritage listed building and bed was made to look nice but so soft I rolled to the middle. Clock radio exploded at the plug when I switched on and my fingers black and stinging.
The Campbell Street lodge is a very historic building and the rooms are basic but with very comfortable beds. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.
If you don’t want super modern, then this is a great place to stay. It is also located close to the centre of town, however is very quiet. There are rooms on the ground floor if you don’t want to climb up stairs to the second floor.

Overpriced dump. More like a boarding house for old homeless men. Bathroom tiny, shower not even a metre sq. Can’t dry yourself in bathroom unless stand in sink or toilet. Tiles in bathroom floor loose, carpet loose and circa 1950’s. Only redeeming feature was the people working there are lovely

I really liked the atmosphere, the fact the property felt quaint.
While I did enjoy the old-fashioned keys I didn't like the large keyhole in the door that always had me wondering whether someone was spying on me.

That is a great comment.
very noisy at night people drinking outside rooms until early morning.
Was not happy with my stay, very little sleep for the amount of money it cost for the night. will go elsewhere next time,....
