Easy accommodation options in Castlemaine. A bit overpriced but probably just taking advantage of the lack of options available, so good luck to them. The playground is run down and the pool is tiny but for a night's sleep, it was clean and functional

This would have to be the worst accommodation we have stayed in. Booked in for 3 nights but only stayed one. When we arrived there was no one at reception. Rang bell and noone answered so called number on door as stated. Guy answered and said he'd be there in 5mins as had to run into town to grab some lunch. Room was just horrible. Huge crack in the wall, old bathroom and shower just had a curtain. TV didn't work. Pool was closed and appeared to have been that way for months. Bed coverlet appeared dirty however sheets appeared clean. No free toiletries provided. Toaster and kettle provided but no plates. Would never recommend this hotel or stay there again. As I said, only stayed one night as could not stay after that.

Apologies for the way you feel about your stay. Reception is very rarely unattended, as it was on that day apologies for the short wait. I believe you booked a budget/standard room, which is the most affordable room at our property and it does state that is "standard". Pool is open and tv works in each room, regular maintenance is conducted. Linen is cleaned regularly and maintained for our guests comfort, toiletries are provided in each room as a standard amenity. Additional cutlery/dishes can be requested for at reception and we are happy to provide. Apologies you found your stay unsatisfactory.

nice clean room and bathroom, but the beds were hard, the pool was nice but the spa button didnt work, the grass area was nice but no where to sit there, so it needs another table and seat set on this area next to the pool

Room comfortable and well fitted out. Lots of rubbish and debris outside in the grounds. Was very expensive for a motel room. But overall was pretty happy with it.

Pool not accessible and not advertised with seasonal operating details. Windows left wide open by staff during the stay. Security concern. Bathroom the best feature - good shower. Crockery fir microwave and toaster use would have been helpful, especially as no breakfast option was advertised.

Appeared recently renovated and well maintained, very clean, good size room, bathroom spotless,towels on the small side but fluffy and clean, big tv, great little amenities:tea/coffee/biscuits/kettle/toaster/microwave. Very happy, close location to town.

Pros: well located, reasonably priced, good size room for 3 adults, bikkies, clean and had microwave and toaster as well as the standards (fridge, tea etc). Quiet room (#7) and good temp control at night with comfortable bedding/beds. Good tv with channels and good cupboard space for luggage. Cons: only 2 chairs in a room to accommodate 3 adults, fridge was old and had a horrible seal that was half loose, tight on the toiletries with not even an additional soap for the bathroom sink. Couldn't figure out the electric blanket and convinced it wasn't actually connected (no instructions either). Older bathroom with soft plastic shower curtain. Honestly though the biggest negatives were that the pool was closed (no notification of this on hotels.com or through property) but the sign stayed permanently on 'closed' during our stay and it was dirty. Just a waste and we were looking forward to it. The other negative was that while they had a small bbq area, there was no lighting and it was up the back and just looked really bad. Would've loved to make dinner and enjoy the motel facilities. All in all I'd stay again for a reasonable price.

Perfect for our needs as a stop over for a sports tournament in Bendigo. Our room was clean and we had parking available right at our doorstep. TV and aircon worked well. Price was very affordable.

Just what we were looking for. A clean quiet and basic overnight stay during our road trip. Would definitely go back there if/when travelling through again. Everything worked (unlike the Mantra we stayed at in Adelaide) - lights, TV, showers.
