Glassworks cone at Catcliffe, South Yorkshire, England. One of two built in 1740 for William Fenney. The other has not survived. The 70ft-high brick furnace was worked until early in the 20th century. It was used as a prison in the First World War and as a canteen in the 1926 General Strike http://www.treetonweb.co.uk/parish/catcliffeglass.htm
Catcliffe Flash, Rotherham. http://www.treetonweb.co.uk/gallery/catcliffe/index.htm An open stretch of water formed as a result of subsidence and surrounded by a well-developed area of marshland and willow-carr, covering an area of 12ha. Beyond the carr grassland stretches to the river. The LNR is immediately west of Treeton Lane , Catcliffe, which has a layby.
