Staff are pleasant and our room was much nicer than I’d expected. When booking the king / queen you essentially get two adjoining rooms. The only downside is a train runs nearby and often. Staff provide earplugs.

Charming but no sleep!
I love vintage buildings, and this place had charm. The owner was nice. The amenities are not what you expect at a hotel these days. They should not have people staying in the hotel when they have a wedding booked. Earplugs were provided for ‘the outside noise, as trains are close by’. The inside noise was worse! With earplugs in, you could hear the people repeatedly coming upstairs, using the stairwell. ( We were on the 3rd floor.) The elevator is very loud also, and with the frequent traffic the noise the elevator makes when it announces a stop was loud enough to hear ( repeatedly) with earplugs in! The acoustics in the building are not conducive for sleeping with people coming back and forth to their rooms. I think we could hear the floors below us as well? There was so much activity. I was excited to like and enjoy my stay at this charming old place, but ended up cranky and tired, and not enjoying it.

We also hope that you enjoyed the free upgrade that we gave you to our Family Room so that you and your kids could have even more space to relax and watch TV. We are absolutely horrified to hear that you had a negative stay in your suite! As a small family business our very survival rises and falls on the reviews and positive experiences of our guests. To that end we let every group know in their confirmation email that they have rented a night when we are going to have a wedding in our Grand Ballroom and ask them if they are alright with celebratory noise that evening. The wedding the evening of your stay was over at 6 pm and then the entire event left the building for their off site reception. All we can think of is that the noise you heard must have been wedding guests coming back to their rooms late Saturday night? If you are able to stay with us again please feel free to call us at the after hours phone number we provide guests when they check in so we can address any noise concerns immediately! We are so sorry you left cranky and tired and we hope to have a chance in the future to provide you with the enjoyable stay you were expecting and which is the usual experience for our guests!!

The hotel is beautifully refurbished while maintaining the vintage charm. The staff was very pleasant, helpful and accommodating. Check in and out was easy and efficient. A few reviews mentioned the nearby train noise but we hardly noticed it, the complimentary ear plugs would be helpful for more sensitive folks. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The only thing we would like to have had was a mini refrigerator, otherwise we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this lovely hotel.

It was nice to stay in a historical building, but if you only want a bed and bathroom, then your good. Room did not have a TV or a fridge. Dinner within the building was very expensive for both Dinner and Breakfast. Nice it was convenient, but very pricey.

We are sorry that you did not choose to take us up on our offer to let you use our Living Room which includes a big screen TV, and free cable. The two restaurants located here in the building, while both award winning, are separate businesses from the hotel but assuredly have been hit with the ever increasing costs of food and labor that have negatively affected all of us small family business owners. Historic property that the owners are doing an excellent job of restoring in an authentic way. It does have some modern comforts like AC, comfortable bathrooms, etc. The historic main street with lots of restaurants and quirky shops is only a block away. I'd stay again when in the area.

Beautiful Renovated ballroom. Beds not comfortable
We stayed at venue/hotel our daughter got married at. We stayed 2 nights. The venue (renovated ballroom) was absolutely beautiful, the owners were so nice and friendly. The only thing I would like to share are the beds are the worst I have ever slept on. They were so hard and uncomfortable. Other family members said the same thing. There is space between bed and headboard so that’s where my pillow migrated. I woke up each morning after tossing all night with shoulder and neck pain. Sadly, after the wedding when I was most tired, I was not looking forward to sleeping in the bed. Terrible beds. Also, it would have been nice the second night to have had fresh towels. We had four people and it wasn’t fun to have damp towels the second morning. Would have been nice to have fresh towels and washcloths for a second night. Again, the owners are super nice! The ballroom beautiful but I probably wouldn’t return to stay the night.

We have stayed here several times while visiting family. Hotel room, a suite, is roomy, bed is comfy, with bath and walk in shower, but this is unique to a few rooms, not all. There is no TV, no microwave, no frig. Centralia is a small city, and the hotel is just off the center of the main street, like a 3 minute walk to good coffee and other restaurants/pubs/minimal shopping, Berry Fields restaurant is good and convenient in the same building, for breakfast and lunch. There is a nice park nearby, and also it is near the community college. All appealing. I enjoy the overnight train noise as reminds me of my where I grew up, but it is there, in case you don't share that feeling. Parking has always worked out fine, but I suggest you do not leave valuables in your car for peace of mind.

Wonderful place to stay
We absolutely loved this hotel. It was different from any hotel we have stayed in. The building first built on 1920, was beautiful. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. The he restaurant there was the best!

Great place
Was a little creepy entering the old building from the back ally at dark to do a self checkin but everyone was pleasantly surprised. It is definitely vintage but very nice. Would definitely recommend staying here. The cafe served us an amazing breakfast. All staff were very friendly and helpful!

We stay in a suite room with included shower and 2 sinks. That makes our mornings easy. The sinks are two-knob hot-cold which is inconvenient at times (too hot!) But the hotel has character and the train noise is only a small problem compared to being in the downtown area for walking. Nice bed and extra couch to allow one of us to stay up late.

Great stay in a historic hotel
We enjoyed this unique stay - the beds were very comfortable and the Jack-and-Jill bathroom with individual sinks in the rooms was perfect for our group of 5’s needs. Thankfully there were no events in the ballroom during our stay - the terrace was literally right outside the windows. There are active train tracks nearby, but the occasional horn blast was not too disruptive for us. They provide ear plugs for guests, which is a very nice touch.

First night stay of a roadtrip. Lovely experience
We stayed in a room with a separate living area. The whole suite was lovely and the original features of the building had been sympathetically restored and highlighted. Room was clean and well equipped, including bath robes, which was a nice touch. We ate in the restaurant downstairs and the foid was excellent with friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.
