"Hotel was nice, staff were friendly, massive room, bathroom needed a little modernisation but other than that was great. Pool area had plenty of seating but the sun beds were short and uncomfortable. Breakfast options were extensive, plenty of choice for vegetarians! Bar was a little expensive but great during happy hour. Location was spot on for walking and pick up/drop offs. We had a lovely stay!"

"The staff was very kind and helpful when the address listed on Expedia took us to the back of the hotel instead of the main entrance when checking in at 2am. We ended up finding parking on the street which was less expensive than the hotel parking but had to walk a bit. The room was clean and in a good area, we felt safe at night. It was about a 20 minute drive from the airport. We only stayed for one night and it was good!"

"Overall a great hotel which ticks a lot of boxes in terms of location, facilities, cleanliness. The only issue I would point out is the checkin / out staff and process seems overly long. This creates queues which is the last thing you need after a long journey. We waited for 30-40 mins to be checked in and the desk staff seemed frustrated as much as the guests."

"Reid’s is a beautiful property with multiple pools and diving access to the ocean. Our stay involved changing rooms ( not the hotels fault), and not all rooms are the same. The first room had a walk in shower but the second room had a very slippery tub shower. There was construction going on during our stay that made for noisy afternoons. The food was really good and there are multiple restaurants, however, I would reserve a table in advance of your stay to guarantee your spot at dinner. The service was exceptional."

"The Hotel is absolutely gorgeous and in an amazing part of Funchal. The rooftop pool And bar are absolutely unbelievable with the best views in town. The staff are incredible and the rooms were cleaned impeccably. Possibly needing a little TLC in some parts of the room. But do not let it put you off absolutely fantastic would definetly return"

"After moving to an air conditioned room and getting the premium drinks upgrade our stay definitely improved. The staff were amazing and went out of their way to help you with whatever you ask. Evenings entertainment showed some great talent, most singers were amazing. Daytime activities were fun but were limited to very few. System for the shuttle bus to town could be improved as it was a free for all and people had to eventually get back off. Breakfast and lunch options were good however dinner was a hit or miss and we ate out a few times as a result. I would recommend this hotel as its waterfront location is beautiful however only if you get the upgraded options."
