Basov is a lovely old town in the hills Transylvania. It makes a nice base to visit various Dracula and Vampire related sites of the area. You can also pick up various Medieval torture related trinkets if that's your kind of souvenir.

"Raddison blu, was everything I expected and more. Staff were so kind and helpful, they gave us some very good advice of where to go for New Years Eve. Breakfast was delicious and had variety for everyone, from cooked omelets to cereals. Smoothies, fresh fruit and not to forget the pancakes with chocolate for the children. Beds were very comfortable. The hotel was in a prime location, wish we had more time there to explore. Would recommend and stay again. "

"Bathroom smelled like sewage, which they seem aware of given the strong incense in the room, but masking a smell like that does not work. It is also difficult to use the shower without getting water everywhere. The bed is reasonably comfortable but the room is small. The parking situation is not good because unless you have the spot along the door, you are either blocked in or blocking others. They should accept that they only have three workable spots but instead they force it to be 5-6. "
