"This is one of my worst experiences ever with a hotel. The space is basically a scam, with most things under construction, unsanitary conditions, no drapes (with sunrise here at like 4:00am). I felt that if I slept in one of the super dirty spaces, I would have catched an eye infection. No staff to help, but only a chat on WhatsApp that never replied. No Wifi. "I understand the construction, but perhaps you should not have certain rooms booked until it’s completed. 2 of the 4 elevators were working. so I took the long way to my room, where the key card did not work. so I went all the way back down to the desk where I was ignored while other guests were being checked in. I was upset at this because I feel like I should have been helped first. they came in AFTER I got back down to the desk. so that was my start. the construction noise was right outside my room and prevented me from sleeping in on my holiday. I also was unsure if my temperature control was working so I called down to the desk to ask for someone to come show me how to work it. an hour and 14 minutes after I called no one had came up or called so I walked all the way back to the desk where 3 desk agents were comparing the veins in their hands. the gentleman that did finally come to my room said he didn’t know how to work it either since it was new, so he suggested keeping the window open with the noise. I was so disappointed in this hotel. the bed was hard and pillows way too soft which is a personal preference so nothing on your part. Breakfast was ok. The location is the only positive thing I can say, and I really hate that. I had splurged on this hotel because of the location and I was celebrating visiting my last country in eastern europe. this was the worst hotel I stayed at on this 10 day trip and was the highest rated. I definitely learned my lesson."

"After using hotel.com now for a significant number of trips, I have come to realize that you definitely are out in rooms that they would not use if the person booked directly with the hotel. After arriving on a Friday, I spent the day enjoying Old Town Ljubljana. Truly a wonderful experience. I had an excellent dinner and sat outside at an outdoor cafe enjoying the city. I was woken up at 7:00 a.m by extremely loud banging, drilling and hammering. Turns out the building next door was gutted and is being completely renovated. My wall was directly next to this building. This is NOT the way you want to start your first morning in a new city. Building code in Ljubljana permits construction to begin at 7:00 a.m so I realized that this was what I would face during my stay. My room was adequate, and the breakfasts were lovely. The location is amazing. I did have an issue with the cold packs for my medication — I know a lot of travelers now face this and my cold packs must be kept frozen. When I departed, they were completely liquid and not even the slightest bit frozen which could have had resulted in serious medical issues for me. Between the construction and the issues with my medication, would not consider this hotel in a future visit to Ljubljana."
