The property is in a great location and within walking distance to the malecon and restaurants. There are dogs everywhere on the streets in Lake Chapalla and not a problem except at night when they bark and howl in groups. Not sure this is a hotel issue, but makes it hard to sleep some nights. The hotel is older and could use a bit of sprucing up. Otherwise we enjoyed the quaintness of La Casona and the friendliness of the staff and the great breakfasts. We found the room and bed comfortable. We had a little terrace off our room. My suggestion for the terrace would be a table and chairs rather than the loungers which were not comfortable to sit in. Overall we enjoyed our stay at La Casona.

Enjoyed our stay here. The center of Chapala. Convenient for walking to places. One negative is parking... hotel on main street...parking is only allowed for 45mins... you have to find parking blocks away.. everything else is perfect

no A/c
well it was small room. the room did not have AC so the room was very hot at night. TV only ned Netflix other stations. ɓathroom had ants all over . the parking was 4 blocks away and you have to pay to park your car. i would not stay in this hotal. i will say the breakfast was good.

We are also available and happy to assist and answer all of your questions and accomodate your needs before and after you book, please do not hesitate to read and/or contact us at any time :) We have excellent reviews across all booking platforms because we work very hard to provide the best possible amenities and services within reasonable rates and because we are very clear and upfront with our information about location, contact information, services, amenities, etc. Still, it is the travelers responsibility to read, ask questions, compare and choose the hotel and room type they prefer to have a great stay.We wish you would have told us about these complaints at some point during your 3 nights stay with us. Then we would have been able to do something about it.Most of our rooms have AC and all our room types are thoroughly described and available for booking here, you chose to book our smallest most basic room without AC. If you have expressed to us your preference for AC and a more spacious room we could have offered you to upgrade to a larger room with AC and a terrace as soon as you checked in. Same situation with the ants, thank you for letting us know. We will now make sure to fix it as we could have done immediately if we had known about it right away. We are located in the shores of the lake and these things happen from time to time, we do our best to take care of it immediately. We offer streaming services, Netflix and Youtube in all of our rooms in order to accommodate most our guests from all over the world with a great amount of content in a variety of languages. It is the best option we have as local cable TV content is mostly Spanish only, since we are in Mexico. Being a touristic area with great weather and lots of activities to do outside and sites to see within walking distance, most of our guests do not even care about TV honestly, still we aim to provide the best service possible.Our hotel listing clearly specifies there is free parking on the streets surrounding the hotel and there is also an independently owned, secure, gated parking option with a small extra cost of 120 pesos/24hrs. Located exactly 1 block and a half down (150 meters) on the same street as the hotel, less than 2 minutes walk from the hotel entrance.We hope that you enjoyed your visit to our beautiful Lake Chapala area.Kind regards, Noemi B.Owner

Lovely room and delicious breakfast
Our room and breakfast were absolutely lovely. We enjoyed opening the screened windows at night to listen to the rain and people down below. Despite it being a busy place, the noise level was never an issue. Breakfast was made to order and delicious! Parking on the street to load and unload can be tricky, we had to circle several times to get anywhere near the hotel entrance. We opted to pay to park securely over night at a place down the street, maybe a 2-3 minute walk away. Staff was helpful and pleasant, toiletries in the room were much appreciated and overall it was a very nice stay for one night on our way to Guadalajara.

La Casona Chapala’s unique mix of old style living in Mexico with modern amenities made our stay here very enjoyable, and the available breakfast was incredible. It’s strategically located only a hop, skip and a jump from the main Plaza in Chapala which is a perfect spot to meet up with friends and family before exploring the town. .. I personally would qualify this spot as hidden gem! 💎 I cannot wait to come back to Chapala in the future because I will definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay at La Casona. Our flight arrived very early and Jonathan picked us up. Our kids were hungry so when we go to the hotel at 5am, he offered our boys yogurt and granola as the kitchen would open until 8am. He also drove us to the places we wanted to visit and that was awesome as he is very knowledgeable of the area. Mrs. Soco is so nice and always very attentive and her cooking has great flavor. Finally, Nayeli. She was great, she made sure we always had everything we needed at breakfast and in our room. Overall, this was a wonderful experience and we can't wait to return soon.

We had a wonderful stay! The rooms are cozy, spacious and very nicely decorated. The quality of bed mattresses, pillows and bedding is top notch. Free Netflix to relax in the evening. And an AC to cool the room. There is a lot of beautiful attention to detail throughout the property. The staff is very friendly, helpful and courteous. We loved the breakfast area with a fountain and met some nice expats who were also staying there. They also served hot breakfast which was delicious.
