If you're not prepared, airports and flying can be daunting. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy tips and enjoy a comfortable start to your holiday in Freudenburg. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a stress-free experience if you take the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh change of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, any medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and strong acids, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Opt for shoes that are easy to pull on and off, dress in loose, natural fibers and remember to take a jacket in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
