Do you have any tips for my flight to Resolute?
If you're poorly prepared, airports and flying can be overwhelming. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy hints for a trouble-free start to your holiday in Resolute. What to pack in your hand luggage:
  • First and foremost, pack your passport, official ID, cash and medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling novel and a phone filled with your favourite movies are good options. If you intend to take a quick snooze, a quality neck pillow and some earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some deodorant to ensure you step off the plane feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
  • Make sure you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) lurking in your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive products, such as bleach and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
  • Your main priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Go for a pair of slip-on shoes, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to bring a jacket in case you get chilly in the cabin.
  • Most travellers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To lower your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks and move your lower limbs often.
How to get through airport security fast when flying to Resolute?
Being prepared before you arrive at the airport will help make your trip to Resolute a breeze. Check out our handy hints for a stress-free journey past security:
  • Airport security personnel first need to establish that you have a valid passport and matching travel documents before you can proceed any further. Have them close by, ready for inspection.
  • Next up is the X-ray machine. Remove anything on you that is likely to set off the scanner's alarm. This includes things like headphones or earphones, as well as heavy coats or jackets. They'll need to be placed on the conveyor belt for screening.
  • For just a few moments, you'll have to unplug from the digital world. Your tablet, phone and any other electronics also need to go through the scanner.
  • Can't travel without your favourite hand cream? As long as the volume is no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) and it's stored in a zip-lock bag, you can keep it with you in your carry-on baggage.
  • Lightweight sneakers are a practical footwear choice as you're less likely to have to remove them when going through security. Boots and other bulky shoes are usually subjected to additional screening.
  • Pocket knives and other sharp items are not allowed in the cabin. They'll be confiscated at security, so pack them safely away in your checked suitcase.
