"We had an absolutely lovely stay at the Delta Hotel. The staff were incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived, which really set the tone for the whole trip.
Breakfast was delicious, with a great selection of continental options, fresh juices, and hot dishes — a really well-rounded and satisfying start to the day. We also had dinner at the restaurant, which was equally enjoyable. The food and atmosphere were both lovely.
The accommodation was surprisingly spacious and private. The hotel is made up of separate houses, so your room feels more like your own apartment. The only thing to keep in mind is that you may need to walk between your room and reception, the restaurant, or the spa — depending on where you’re located, this can take around 7–10 minutes. We didn’t mind it, but it’s worth noting.
We used the spa and had a massage, which was wonderful. The amenities are great and really added to the relaxing countryside experience.
There isn’t much within walking distance, so you’ll need a car to explore the surrounding area. But if you plan ahead, there are interesting activities and spots to visit nearby.
Overall, it was a lovely countryside stay. We’d happily return."
"Definately NOT a 5 star hotel. Rooms in massive need of updating, and the spa also. The Spa when we went was very messy, paper cups and peoples slippers/robes on floor scattered about. Looks like in need to some TLC. Visited Bath many a time and far nicer places to stay in my opinion, especially for the price. Building is beautiful, breakfast was as expected, check in fine, staff lovely, location ok 10 min walk into centre - just desperately needs some updating. "
"DISAPPOINTED. We have stayed at The Bristol Hotel numerous times and loved it. This time however was horrendous. There was a wedding downstairs which is fine, but the whole room was vibrating. mentioned this to room service which stated it doesn't go on for long, it did. The windows were like paper, we could hear everything on the street below so clearly that i thought the windows were open. i did mention this to front desk in the morning, the reply was slightly annoying considering how nice the chap was. It cant have been the wedding making the music noise and vibration. It most defiantly was. I understand that Bristol on a weekend is lively which i am not apposed to, but the windows being that bad really shouldn't be the case. Also, to be told that i was wrong felt a little rude. On that note the room service was incredible and the food that they delivered was amazing.
The bad experience will make us think twice unfortunately about booking again, which is a shame as its a great hotel and we really like it. But room 223 is letting it down. "
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Bristol South - Cadbury House
10/10 Excellent
"Excellent service, treated very well every time we stay, totally recommend for relaxing and being able to enjoy everything ans atay without having to go out anywhere. "
"Room wasnt massive but it did feel cosy. Bathroom door would swing wide open and bang on the desk unless you fully closed it. Shower wouldnt turn off fully. Comfy bed and nice temperature, good nights sleep. Breakfast wasn't that enjoyable - dry bacon, greasy hashbrowns, weird flavour sausages. Enjoyed the fruit and yoghurt though."
