Great space and public access. My room decor was above and beyond what I expected. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. I did have an issue with a lumpy mattress but informed the staff and they reported they will look into it for future guests. My room was very clean and kept up well. I felt comfortable and safe in the environment. I will definitely stay again.

Small, Hot, and Disappointing

Small room (#6), no counter space or racks for luggage smelled like stale smoke and was stuffy and hot even with air on... Ice melted in 15 min. Was told checkout was at 12pm got 3 wakeup calls (not requested) starting at 10am from front desk waking me up way to early. No plates or napkins, and no water available. Breakfast was mia and no teabags or milk available.

It was the ideal place to visit with someone in Christ Hospital. There was a free shuttle to the hospital and it arrived soon after a call. The breakfast was good and the staff was personable.

The room was clean, I didn't care that I had to buy an iron in order to press my clothes because what few irons that were available, ALL were scorched and dirty, the ironing board was some sort of joke, that experience was below substandard.

The staff was so polite and friendly. Will definitely stay here next year. Everyone should try Gateway Inn for a very quiet relaxing stay. Thanks to the staff for all the help and courtesy.

I was a bit surprised at the location and hotel (which is more like a motel if you ask me). The whole place was dated and not what I expected for the price I paid. The toilet constantly ran the time we were there but I didn’t bother to have it fixed. Found another hotel the next day.

Not a great location

The motel was very clean and comfortable. It is located in a safe area. It is difficult to get to, and you go through some unsafe areas to get there.

The property is deceiving on the outside. The inside decor is very nice and homelike. Very comfortable. The location is perfect and many stores in area. I would definitely return.

Worth every penny!

In town for a music festival. The Gateway had welcome sign for music fans when we arrived. Staff treats you like an old friend. Our room was like being in a cozy cottage! Very clean and charming. Super comfortable. Slept well! There was a fancy sushi place just down the street with amazing food! Wanting to get the full-vacation-feel, we hit Stacked for breakfast...also down the street. Wish they had one back home. The Gateway was a short drive from downtown Chicago. We were able to take in a few attractions like Willis Tower, The Bean and Navy Piet in the short amount of time we were in town. Recommending this motel to everyone traveling to the Chicago area!

The room was freshly redone and very clean. The breakfast was minimal but good. The staff was likable and helpful. Let us check in an hour early so we could be on time to our event.
