A wonderful place to stay in Hyde Park. Even the offsite parking was easy to access and plenty of places to walk and enjoy Chicago lakefront, museums, and food. Mass transit easy to find from location.

It’s a really nice hotel with a great restaurant inside. We ate there for breakfast and it was delicious. We got in late when we checked in and were tired so we tried ordering room service but nobody would pickup the phone at the restaurant, apparently they were too busy they said. Other than that it was a great stay! Room is clean, bed was so comfortable. We would stay there again.

Maid service was hit-and-miss. Lounge area was crowded with loud music. Restaurant was understaffed in the morning with slow service. Coffee was weak. Lobby was divided into service and no service but rule was not enforced.

The designs of the room, lobby, and the cafe were beautiful. They gave us extra water packs. I loved it. I wish the restaurant had more staff to welcome guests in because we were waiting for the entrance, but no one showed up until we went inside.

The management essentially accused my husband and I of stealing an object from their restaurant, was very aggressive (getting our faces, etc), tried kicking us out of the hotel and called police. It’s a shame that the establishment has people like this working there as the hotel and restaurant are beautiful and offer great amenities. The only other downside is the area is still up and coming so there were some unsavory characters around.

No microwave in rooms, and no way to warm up food for kids. After 3 days of stay a worker told me I could rent 1 for 15$ per day. I was annoyed at the fact that I wasn’t given this option or notified when I checked in. Also I had to pay 40 a night to park outside property and the parking garage was even more inconvenient because it was a long walk from The actual hotel. I also thought I was getting big tub with my room instead of shower. The shower would have been fine if it wasn’t missing half a door. I’ve stayed in cheaper hotels that are more comfortable.

This is a very unique hotel. The artwork and decorative touches are lovely. The food is good, but expensive. The staff is welcoming. Be prepared to park in a lot a block away if you can’t find a spot on the street.

Myself and my guest enjoyed our stay, we were there to celebrate my guy's birthday, we were going to eat at a nearby restaurant, but decided to eat at the restaurant, located inside the hotel, it was kind of cold in the restaurant, but the food was very delicious, and what I don't understand is why my credit card was billed for 22.38, but I do recommend Sophy, beautiful place to stay! Oh and also a microwave would be nice for leftovers!

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We weren’t there very long, basically only slept there but I would recommend to a friend and would stay here again. Very nice clean Hotel. Our fiends also ate in the restaurant and said it was very good too!

We loved how quant and cozy room was. From the shower help to the carpet in bathroom, the record player was a nice touch. The lighting was nice. The sitting area in room was also cool.

The decor was superb and unique, classy and cozy. The whole room was an artistic feast. The only thing missing were more hooks or bars to hang one’s towels
