The Garten hotel was very comfortable with amazing food, service and views. We love the boutique hotel vibe with 5 star service. The proximity to the beach was amazing. We would definately stay here again and would recommend to anyone going to El Salvador.

When we got there there was stains on the floor. Very overpriced we waited almost an hour for our food. Our apartment was a little drive away from where we checked in. We got transported f On an electric golf cart. People were nice very responsive to our request when we wanted to go back to the resort

The hotel is very nice. Hospitality was generally great. The service for the restaurant was hit or miss, depending on the employees working that day. But any service involving our room was excellent. Keep in mind that there is a lot of construction surrounding the hotel as the area is starting to grow. That's not the hotel's fault and it's temporary, but it did get loud at times. Overall, one of the better spots to stay in El Zonte.

Just What I Needed

The Garten Hotel was just what I needed. My room was nice and spacious, clean. This hotel is right on a beautiful black sand beach(not rocky either). I loved the al fresco dining. The staff was amazing. I wanted to workout in their gym, and one of the receptionists walked me over to the gym, since it was located on the sister property(the villas) to show me exactly where it was. Food and drinks were good . It was quiet and relaxing, which I loved. I will definitely stay here again.

Only four rooms, as far as I could tell, so service was attentive. A lovely pool and bar with a view over the ocean. Beautifully presented drinks. Breakfast was excellent, dinner was so-so. The beach is down a flight of steps and it's the best way to get to the rest of El Zonte. I was very happy there and will be back.

The location, on the beach was phenomenal. Small clean property with restaurant and beach. I purchased massage, that was also very good. My last interaction with Dennis, front desk person was slightly uncomfortable. I attempted to explain that I was charged for water incorrectly and he continued to reference the free water in the room.

The Deluxe Villa is not what it looks like in the pictures. We couldn’t see the beach from it. The hotel is nice and has beautiful views. The villas are not in the same property. We felt deceive by the pictures. Definitely not worth the price for the villa when it doesn’t have an ocean view and is a good walk to get to the beach. The major reason we booked it was due to the ocean view. We had booked it for two nights but only stayed one night. The hotel is very nice and it should be made clear that the villas are not in the same property and no ocean view or direct beach access.
