"Fine hotel. Enjoyed the views from pool deck. Great location. Rooms are very spartan but the bathrooms are clean and modernized… albeit compact. The balcony’s are very loud because of the busy road and passersby right below. If you are not planning to spend a lot of time in your room, it’s a good hotel option and staff was great."

"This place is lovely. Few minutes walk to the marina where there's lots of cafes, restaurants & shops, lovely town. Train station is about 20 minute walk. The hotel was clean with lovely staff, air-conditioning & fridge in the room, great pool area, with a bar for drinks & food at lunchtime. The breakfast was also very nice & a great choice. Would definitely recommend."

"Hotel Nazionale Portofino was a wonderful place to stay while visiting Portofino. You simply can’t beat the location—being right in the heart of Portofino made it easy to explore the harbor, restaurants, shops, and nearby walking trails without having to worry about transportation. The staff was consistently warm, welcoming, and friendly throughout our stay. They made us feel genuinely welcome and were always happy to answer questions or help whenever we needed anything. One of the biggest reasons I chose this hotel was that it is truly pet friendly. Traveling with a dog can sometimes be stressful, so it was refreshing to stay somewhere that genuinely accommodates pets. That made a huge difference in our experience and allowed us to fully enjoy our visit. We also visited during an intense heat wave, so the air conditioning was a lifesaver. It kept the room cool and comfortable, making it easy to relax after spending the day exploring in the summer heat. Overall, Hotel Nazionale offered a comfortable stay, excellent hospitality, and an unbeatable location. I would happily stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient and pet-friendly hotel in the heart of Portofino."

"Excellent location and the bonus of the private beach. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly, each one went above and beyond the normal expected service, from reception to the restaurant staff, they all made our anniversary trip very special. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again."

"We were a bit confused by this hotel. This is a luxury boutique hotel that didn’t really feel like a luxury hotel. The staff were nice which is expected but didn’t go out of their way for us. The location is excellent and our room had a beautiful view of the Portofino piazza but the windows all had signs saying “please keep windows closed”. Our room furnishings were standard. The hotel is very loud. We were above the restaurant and could hear the music all day and we could hear people in the hallway and the very loud guests in the room above us most of the night. Despite this hotel’s social media, website, Expedia saying the amenities included a free shuttle to the beach, there was no free shuttle. When we asked about it we were told by staff we had to walk 30 min to the beach on the dangerous, hilly, winding one lane road(our taxi driver coming to Portifino specifically told us tourists are hit every day when they mistakenly walk on the road). We paid for a taxi to take us to the beach. No pool. The only other amenities were the one hour gozzo boat ride which was nice and the breakfast at the restaurant Dav Mare which was the best part of staying at this hotel. The restaurant staff are exemplary and the food is delicious (and plentiful). Also be advised that this hotel has a very specific check in. You can only check in between 3-6pm because the hotel is in the pedestrian zone. A bellhop meets you at the taxi drop off and walks you and your bags two blocks to the hotel."

"Lovely tradition Italian apartment. Spacious and clean, appreciated having a washing machine. Should be noted the apartment is on the 2nd floor, up two very steep flights of Stairs, would not be suitable for anyone with mobility or unsteady feet."

"This place is wonderful. The building is so perfectly placed in the heart of Portofino with a parking garage across the street if you drive. Our only complaint is that although the mattresses are comfortable, they make noises every time you move in bed. I believe it’s the platform under the mattresses in the two bedrooms. In either case, we wore ear plugs and then slept fine."
