"The accommodation was disappointment. Not only did I find that there was an addition £12.50 to pay for parking at the property, which was not specified in the booking. The property is clearly advertised as having doors that open from the lounge to the outside sea front. On arriving at the property I found the doors from the lounge locked and no key available to unlock them. When calling the reception I was told that they had been locked for "security" reasons and could not be opened. It appears...

"Everything was spot on: clean, well maintained, well equipped kitchen. There was a beautiful garden to use too. The hosts, Jon and Sara were lovely with plenty of helpful hints, advice and general information. I would certainly recommend!"

"Outstanding, friendly service with a smile from nearly all staff, from reception to bar staff to cleaners. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel very welcomed and valued.
Hotel is in a superb location and offers all the amenities for a 5 star stay including limited on site parking.
Whilst the main areas of the hotel felt spacious and were mostly well maintained, several small things let it down such as stained lampshades on the lamps in the bar area, dirty glassware from the bar, seats unclean and paintwork showing long term signs of wear and tear. Things that could easily be rectified to give it that "Wow" factor.
Breakfast was plentiful and of good variety and quality. The hot food was served hot! The restaurant area was decorated well, although likely not to everyone's taste, however the carpet is heavily stained, tired and did not match the rest of the décor.
Our room was recently refurbished and tastefully decorated in modern neutral tones. However the bedroom and bathroom furniture had seen better days and was very tired if not broken in numerous places which let down the effort and fresh feel of the rest of the room. Having said that it was comfortable enough and the views over the bay were undeniably breath taking.
Overall a great stay made so by the friendliness of the staff and the location. If you are looking for clean lines, modern interior and a high quality finish this is probably not for you."
"This is an exceptionally nice hotel as a base for the area. A slight walk from Torquay town centre, it does benefit from great sea views (If booked that side) and a fresh looking contemporary design because it felt very new. A lot of hotels in Torquay looked tired and possibly lacked the amenities. Staff were excellent, and the afternoon cream tea's were fabulous. Freshly baked with loads of clotted cream. All round a good place."
"Great location for main beach in Torquay and Tor Abbey which are within walking distance. Clean hotel with very welcoming staff. Breakfast choices were limited but there was plenty of food available. There is a bar but you may need to ask front desk staff to open it for you depending on the time. Similarly there is a big TV in the lounge but you may need help finding the remote. Plenty of parking although it is spread around the property and spaces are tight. I didn't use the L shaped pool but it looked clean. If you're looking for value for money near the main beach this is a good choice."
"Once past the tired exterior, we were greeted by Hassan (site manager). He was very friendly and patient when guiding all nine of us through how to use the coded doors. He genuinely couldn‘t do enough for us over our week‘s stay, from providing extra tea/coffee to giving advice on local attractions and places to go.
All five rooms booked were clean and comfortable. They had provided fans in every room before our arrival due to the current heat wave.
The two pools were fantastic. The outdoor pool was open for use from Monday morning. It was plenty big enough to enjoy, and we all took advantage of it every day of our stay.
Members of our family used the steam room, sauna, and pool table.
Although they only sell a select few drinks, they are happy for you to have your own and provide an ice machine, which came in handy whilst sitting on the balcony enjoying the outdoor space and chatting till late. Even the local fox gave a brief appearance.
Overall, we all had a great time and without a doubt we will be back next year."
