Independent, Clarington hotels

"This was the most disgusting hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The photos do NOT match the actual. We actually left immediately and booked another hotel. It smelled so bad I actually had a gagging fit. We were on the first floor… the back door to the main level would not close properly and anyone could walk in. The patio door lock could have been opened by a toddlers strength. Felt very unsafe. There were brown stains in the tubs, there were stained cracks in the doors. The room was musty. The bedding I did not even want to touch. The smell of smoke was to the point my 10 year old had to run out. TERRIBLE. Will never trust a travelodge again. "

"The breakfast was only missing fresh fruit and maybe a choice of meat. Like maybe bacon as opposed to sausage. Parking was good, I could see my car from my room on third floor. Yard was a bit messy but they still have some snow. The tub in the room had spots on it. Not sure if it wasn't cleaned or if it's just discolouration. Either way it should be taken care of. The room number was 326. The staff was so friendly and it was pretty close to being perfect other than those few things."

"Hotel is clean enough. Bed is quite firm and pool is great for the kids. The rooms are rundown (the inside of our bathroom door looked like it had been through a war). The rooms have an overly floral smell - like a deodorizer spray - I can see this bothering anyone with scent issue as it was VERY strong. The breakfast is okay - lots of carbs such as pastries and cereals, there is a waffle maker but no cup or oil spray so what comes out is tasty but messy. The only protein is boiled eggs - but they don't have that weird hotel boiled egg taste so thumbs up on that. We were staying for 1 night as just a place to sleep and swim and for that it was worth the cheaper price - in fact, we are booked again here for our next competition in this area. "

"The parking is enormous and very well secured by camera. The room was cozy and comfortable, also real clean. We went to eat at the restaurant of the casino and wait line was endless, it could be good if clients of the hotel could have priority to the dinning room."

"Yes the breakfast was fresh and the coffee was delicious. Parking was right by the front door, easy access for us. Hotel is excellent. Well appointed inside, room had all the necessary things we needed, beds comfortable and well made up,with winter white sheets and cover. Hotel was in a quiet area of Oshawa . Would definitely recommend it and book there again. "

"I had a lovely stay. The room was spacious and bright. The room was clean, however the carpet needed another going over, which was taken care of immediately. Staff were wonderful. I'd stay again, and recommend to others. "
