Can't review the place, only my experience, because, after arriving in NY, we found it was permanently closed due to a fire. No one from the hotel (which, according to an article about the fire is owned by iConnect Hospitality) or Expedia informed me in advance of the fire so I could make alternative plans. Finding an alternate hotel in that area for Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Weekend was very difficult. And getting help from Expedia to transfer our reservation was also difficult.
When checking in, you were not sure which hotel you were checking into, only roadway inn was on the outside. The parking lot was dark and not plowed. The room we received was not what we booked, therefore the three of us slept in a king bed. At "breakfast" there was a limited selection (bread, English muffins and bagels) and the toaster did not function properly, along with the fact that there were no plates or napkins to put your food on. Hats off the the desk clerk who managed to find everything we needed and still have a sense of humor.....the room was lacking adequate towels, but after turning the shower on and seeing the brown water, the extra towels were not needed. When checking out, I asked for a receipt and was told I was not in the system. I definately would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
The shower was luke warm, the fan in the bathroom sounded like a crop duster, the carpets were torn and worn, the corners of the room were dusty and had dead spiders, there was a hair in the bed sheets on one bed, the gym facility was no not in use.
The hotel is very very old has an moldy smell upon entering.. the carpet is very old and dirty. The smell of cigarette smoke is vivid in the hallway. Hallway is very dim and extremely cold.
Wasn't expecting much based on reviews and price. Definitely wasn't disappointed or surprised by anything better.
It started with a check in person that acted like they'd rather be cleaning their toenails than waiting on a guest. But got to my room and at least the beds were somewhat comfortable. However when we noticed that there was only 1/2 a roll of toilet paper and went to the lobby to get more, found out that all toilet paper was in a locked closet and no one had the key. "Complimentary breakfast" the next morning was basically stale english muffins and bagels, so we moved on. Came home and realized upon entering our room that our door no longer locked. We were heading back out and had somewhere to be so we just took our valuables with us, but I would think "locking door" is one of the most basic things your could offer a guest. (They did offer to change rooms, but we didn't have time and it wasn't worth the effort.) Check out the next morning was just another low point as we had to wake the guy working the desk and he didn't have access to the computer to print a receipt (Note to self, double check credit card).
To to sum up. There are beds (pretty comfortable) in an Ok room (kinda clean). But the place is run down, with poor service, lack of basic amenities (toilet paper) and improperly working doors. Got what I paid for. Not much else.
It was a basic clean room. In this area there isn’t many options. The free breakfast was a very plain offering. Bread, bagel, English muffin and cereal. Unfortunately for me, as a diabetic that wasn’t an option.
Stay away from this place. This is one filthy place. The room had not been cleaned, though the bed was made. The pool has clumps of hair floating in it. Coming and going over a couple of days there was never anyone at the front desk. In all my travels this was the nastiest. So why did we stay there? The whole area was sold out.
It was a quick overnight stay. We dropped our bags off and check and left, not really looking at the room. Got in late. The floor was dirty, looked like it hadn't been vacuumed, and there was no blanket in the room so we had to crank up the heat. The worst part was in the am, getting ready to leave, I moved a pillow, and a small roach ran out. Then started really looking around and there were mouse droppings in the corners of the bathroom. We brought the roach body to the receptionist and wrote out all our complaints. They refused to refund, said the manager had checked the room and it was fine. Never going back there!
When it was a Best Western ( thought it still was), it was average. Now it is a Rodeway suites, from what the sign says outside. No lights in stairwell going to my floor( second floor, no elevator). Had to use cell phone light.
Half of lights in hallway out. Sticky floor/steps and banister in stairwell. Room was clean. Remote for TV half working. Was there for 2 nites . Room never made. No new towels for second night. Overall, disappointing, from what it use to be when it was a Best Western.
The staff are working under impossible circumstances. No money is being spent on upgrading and maintaining the property. This is a second job for most. I don't envy them. The owners let the property go to hell. I'm afraid to use the coffee maker in the room. We don't have adequate lighting. I wouldn't shower in that bathtub either. Not because the staff couldn't do a good job, but because everything is too old to try. The bed was actually okay to my surprise, but I used my own pillow not theirs.
Had to wait over 30 minutes in the lobby before an employee was available to check us in. Pool was closed for maintenance, and room was dirty. Found a nice juicy dead spider on the floor when we first got in, and found hairs in our bedsheets. Stains all over the carpet, and tears in the ugly wallpaper. Not worth the $$, could have gotten better at a rundown no-name motel!
The view is awesome. But that’s the only thing that was. When I tried to get in through Door D in the back as instructed, it wouldn’t open. I tracked down a staff member who got it open but not before a very inebriated person (either staff member or simply hanging out with other staff members drinking at one of the service entrances) accosted me. The poolside room was next to the empty and dry indoor pool. The restaurant seemed to be empty and I couldn’t find any staff after hollering ‘hello’. The carpet in the hallway looked like it was installed during the Nixon administration. The water from the faucets was distinctly dirty/discolored. (The color of dark tea.) Toilet handle was about to fall off and toilet took a couple of flushes or more to, ummm, work. Mattress springs were very easily felt. Front desk clerk was cordial. The shower was great, aside from the dirty water. And the heat/ac worked well. Not remotely worth the money.

Disliked: Cleanliness
Didn't like lipstick stains on pillow cases let from previous guests.
Checked in just before 4:00pm and received key to first room that hadn't been cleaned yet. After second key given, same problem - room hadn't been cleaned since last guest. Third key I received - the room smelled terribly of smoke and mold. Finally fourth key, I was sent to a room that was acceptable if you don't mind a few flies and a hole in the wall in the bathroom from the door knob. Breakfast was supposed to be included but when asked I was told "the delivery truck never made it." So, breakfast was coffee (no milk available) and what appeared to be old fruit loops and lucky charms.
Air conditioner not working properly- filter extremely dirty
No toilet paper or tissues in bathroom. No one at front desk to check out , called various times to front desk to complain and phone keeps ringing. when checkign out had to go knock on employee only doors just to get someone at front desk
Dirty windows etc... very very not maintained. Needs alot of housekeeping and property maintenance.
Rooms outdated and musty smelling, first room dead bugs found between mattress, next room was not vacuumed, hair in bathroom, large pee stain was between mattresses on bed skirt. Beds were very uncomfortable. I would not stay here again.
The property was over grown with weeds - broken ice machines - broken vending machines- the toilet in our room was broken we asked for a service man were told the front desk would send they never did we were told it was a full house and we could not move - very very very bad
