"This property is my retreat when trying to disconnect and recharge! Let me say that this place isn’t for everyone! It’s a place for resting, so curfew is 11:00PM to allow every guest to rest. I love this! The property itself is a historic landmark, well preserved with modern upgrades done tastefully and practically. Air conditioned rooms, pool, jacuzzi, spa, gym, restaurant, bar, horseback riding, gaming tables etc. the rooms are exquisitely decorated with the charm of the era, and a couple of tasting bottles of the house made rum awaits on arrival along with snacks. The property also offers free tours of their rum distillery to guests along with rum tasting. The restaurant is fantastic! The menu changes daily so it allows you to taste several dishes during an extended stay. Their T-bone steak, jicama ceviche, guac and carrot cream soup were incredible! Hospitality here is above and beyond! Every member of the staff from the reception to the restaurant, spa and stables is serviceable and willing to do whatever it takes to ensure every guests has a great experience. The pool is nice and warm to spend the day relaxing. The spa is addictive with treatments that leave you wanting for more. Mary was my therapist twice an did a fantastic job! My favorite was the hot stone massage, but heard from friends the facials were the best they’ve had. We love animals so having horses available daily for riding and visiting with the farm animals was so much fun. So much soul!"
