"Had a wonderful stay at Castello di Ugento. The property is truly unique — a beautifully restored historic castle that feels intimate rather than overwhelming. The room is elegant and comfortable, and the atmosphere in the castle is peaceful. What stood out most was the attention to detail and the warmth of the team. Service is thoughtful and personal without being overly formal. The culinary experience is also a highlight — you can really feel the focus on local ingredients and quality. "Starting with arrival - this hotel was “difficult”. Difficult to locate using Google Maps, parking was off-site (about a block away and unsecured). Our room was on the second floor - not only was there no elevator, but the stairs were literally from another century - stone, worn uneven with time. Absolutely no help with our bags. Did I mention it was complicated with pouring rain? Yeah, the “lobby” of this hotel is open-air, so the floors were puddles of water, steps were wet - well- they were outside! It was a relief to get inside of the room. The room itself was fine, comfortable enough, nice bathroom, but for me the inconveniences of this place outweighed the positives. There was a continental breakfast included which was nice, nothing special. You need to ask for your cappuccino to be “caldo” or it will come room temperature. The staff was pleasant enough - absolutely no complaints. We actually ended up checking out a day early! I definitely will be looking for another option next time we’re in the Maglie area. No value here based on the price. "

"This is a lovely hotel for relaxing & enjoying peace & tranquility of Salento The rooms are spacious lovely & super comfy beds & well cleaned every day The restaurant has a daily menu & food is great quality, my wife is Vegan and the staff & Chef made dinners for her every night!! The staff are absolutely awesome! "The most amazing service I have had at any hotel in the World! I cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel and the owners. The hotel is beautiful and the service literally could not have been better. We stayed for 3 nights and wish we had booked longer. The rooms are beautiful, the food and drinks were delicious and the pool area is the perfect place to relax. If you are in the area, you must choose this hotel! You will not find more hospitable owners anywhere else in Italy "

"Hotel was okay. However when I arrived they said i did not have a reservation even though i showed them my reservation from hotels.com. I had already exchanged emails with them earlier in the day about my arrival time and had given them the information they requested to pre-register me before my arrival. they said that they did not correspond with me. They didn't agree that i had a reservation until i showed them our email exchange from that day. Overall the room and place was okay."
