"This is a lovely hotel in a good location for the ski slopes (walking distance to the Bossonet lift even with skis and boots, but there is also the option of the free hotel shuttle to get down to the slopes, and then you get the village free ski bus to get back to the hotel at the end of the day if you want to).
The hotel staff stand out as being particularly good. Extremely courteous, quick to action any issues, and always someone available to help. We had an unfortunate issue with the people in the neighbouring room to ours, but the reception staff were very quick to try and sort the problem or find an alternative solution. Valet parking in the hotel's car park was beneficial and worth the 18EUR per night charge to avoid having to find a parking space outside.
Can't comment on the bar, breakfast or spa as didn't use any of these services.
Ski rental was excellent, good equipment and friendly staff member.
Rooms were very clean, with good facilities. Soundproofing between rooms is not great (we could clearly hear people in the rooms next to us) but that isn't a fault of the hotel.
Overall a very good stay, the hotel is clearly popular and also appears to be popular with families as we saw lots of children around.
Overall a very good staf"
"Very old property and need a lot of maintenance, very untidy, unable to get refund and no cleaning included. We got an entirely different room than what was advertised after we made a compliant we were upgraded to another average room with side view but not exactly what was advertised."
MGM Hôtels & Résidences – Résidence Le Hameau de l’Ours
10/10 Excellent
"Everything about the hotel itself was excellent, the property felt very new and clean, rooms were a good size and well equipped. The spa was also very clean and although small, was never too busy, and was separate to the main pool so for those looking for a little more quiet, it was for over 16s only. All to the staff were amazing, we had great communication from Emma before and during our stay, and Vinesh makes the best cocktails on the mountain! It was very accessible to the slopes, and has the nicest boot room we have ever had.
The only drawback is the location for amenities, there is only one small (but very nice) food shop which sells wine, cheese and bread, and only 2 restaurants locally, so I'd recommend a food shop before you arrive, or be willing to drive/get a bus if you plan to cook more."
You can spend time exploring the galleries in Musée - A la Rencontre du Passé during your trip to La Giettaz. You can seek out the ski slopes in this quaint area.
