"A memorable stay in one of the most beautiful Paradores of Spain. The castle where the Emperor Charles V used to stay, has a rich historic past. The strikingly beautiful Renaissance style court yard is the perfect setting for the restaurant and the bar. Food is excellent. The traditional regional dishes come with a twist.
Unfortunately, breakfast is served only indoors.
The pool is outdoors and you have to cross the moat. There is no pool bar, but you will find plenty of stretchers shaded by large trees. And you can see and hear the storks flying by and nesting on the towers.
The only downside is the street noise which you hear in the pool area and in the rooms, unless you keep the windows closed. At night all is quiet. The rooms are elegant and well appointed with large bathrooms.
Staff is friendly and helpful. Price quality relation is very good."
"Upgraded to a room with a balcony, friendly staff, room a good size and well equipped. Excellent restaurant. Parking okay though little space outside, underground car park fine.
Easy to find off A5.
Interesting area for non golfers, colonies of Griffon vultures nearby and short drive to Monfrague national park.
Would definitely stay again

"The owners were exceptionally polite. The beds were so very comfortable. The bar and restaurant were terrific. We felt very welcome. There was a little language barrier but using translator with them worked perfectly. We wanted to see the real parts of Spain, this was the adventure we wanted. I recommend renting car and travel the differ cities. This hotel is definitely a 10."
"Great choice at breakfast both fresh and freshly cooked. Almost everything homemade. The building has been converted to a really elegant hotel. The garden is a real bonus."
"With the exception of an issue with breakfast (which should have been included FOC but we were charged for it at checkout; at the time of writing this is under investigation by Hotels.com), we could not fault the location, the property or its management. It is wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A very very minor point but there was no plugs for the kitchen sink - we did enquire but were told there weren't any."
