Gorgeous Koln
The staff were incredibly helpful and supportive to me as I was caught with the DB strike. Lovely breakfast, comfy and clean room, same day laundry service and it was even dropped off to my room. In a great part of town as there are so many eating and shops to explore.

The hotel is in a perfect part of town where there is plenty to do if you choose to hang around the area and central enough to walk to the more “happening” parts of town. The staff are great and will assist you and the rooms are equipped with a TV, kettle and strong Wi-Fi

Well located hotel within walking distance to good restaurant and shops. No air-conditioning in the room, need to open window, noisy street and loud fan, made it impossible to get any sleep. Not what I would expect for the price.

Smart design so that small single room was still very comfortable and had everything I needed. Dozens of restaurants nearby, most very, very, very good. Dependable luggage storage on last day.

Great little hotel
Very well situated for me (walking distance from two major tram stations). A lot of bars and restaurants nearby, with a lot of options from breakfast to dinner and entertainment (after all is one block behind the Ring) The hotel is clean, safe, above average overall. And very decently priced (if you book in advance). I didn't try the breakfast since I wasn't interested. The personnel is very friendly, helpful and they speak English fluently. The bed and the room in general was very clean and nicely made.

Good location, clean and comfortable hotel
Astor hotel is within 25 min walking distance to Koln Cathedral. Around the hotel there are many restaurants and cafes. We stayed two nights in Astor and stayed in the rooms on the 5th floor. Rooms were spacious and clean. Bedding was comfortable. Hotel has friendly staff.

Not in the best location. Rough neighborhood. I reserved a king size bed and they give me one single size duvet for a blanket. My wife was traveling with me and they charged me another 40 euro the next morning citing that I only reserved for a single. Find somewhere else to stay!

Overall the stay was pleasant
Overall the stay was pleasant but definitely not luxurious and doesn't feel like a 4 star hotel. The service was top notch, the room was specious but it was quite old in style and the amenities were below par for a 4 star hotel. For example: no AC, and the hand soap was also the shampoo and there was no hair conditioner.

I loved this place! Checking in and out was a breeze. The room was really tiny but i had a single and it wasn't a problem. (Only complaint is i had a dirty towel so i just used another clean one). Breakfast was delicious. The staff were extremely nice and professional. The hotel was easy to find and near the u-bahn station. It's a 15-20 min walk from hbf & 7 min away with train.

Wonderful !!! Super friendly and helpful staff..... a short walk or taxi ride to the Koln Hbf, and truly remarkable breakfast. This is a great hotel. Walking-close to a major shopping street. Just a superior experience overall.

Wonderful experience. I was early and the woman at the reception was nice enough to look for a room for me. She, indeed, found me a room and said, as she gave me the key, " The room is very quiet." And that it was. A very comfortable hotel with good service and great breakfast for a very good price.

The employees are great, nothing to complain about. But no air conditioner in the room when its 30 degres outside is not acceptable for that kind of price. Was impossible to sleep well as it was too hot in the room.

Very clean and comfortable and central
Staff were really lovely and helpful, room was spacious and clean, hotel is very central. Only fault was no air con or fans and a bit noisy from outside with the windows open (it was baking hit)! But would massively recommend this as a place to stay in Cologne.

The location is convenient. The hotel itself is pretty average, nothing special. But I don't think you'll need to spend a lot of time in your hotel room when you could easily explore the surrounding area for food and entertainment

My stay at the Astor & Aparthotel was awesome. I walked from the train station, which was a little under a mile. The staff was incredibly friendly from the start. My room was small, but fine for one person. I had a balcony with a view of the cathedral. The area seemed safe, but they have a strongly recommended policy of leaving the key at the desk (the hotel name and room number are on the key chain, so they don't want you losing it). It seemed a little weird, but I never had any trouble getting my key back. I would absolutely stay there again if I'm ever in Cologne.

Good Points - Excellent customer service. - Nice big modern room. - Free Wi-Fi Bad Points - Key entry to room rather than swipe card. - Breakfast didn't look appetising (especially for €10) so I walked straight passed and went to Starbucks down the road. - Hotel reception locked in evening so you have to buzz in and wait for someone at reception to let you in. I'd like to come and go as I please without reception watching over me.

This is a truly delightful hotel. I always stay here when I visit Köln for business or for pleasure..... but this is always a wonderful stay. Absolutely fantastic staff, the BEST hotel breakfast in Europe, and conveniently close to great shopping and sightseeing. I cannot praise this hotel enough...... I spend 40-60 nights a year in International hotels, and I would rate this as one of my three favorites. What a rare little gem !!

A lovely hotel in close proximity to sightseeing and shopping. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. I would definitely stay there again if my business ever brought me back to Cologne.

The hotel is very good located to the shops and subway. I stayed in the top floor and my apartment was not so big and had no refrigerator, it was more a hotel room, internet was ok and personal very friendly.

Decent small hotel in the center
As with most hotels in cologne, it wasn't worth the price. The room was clean and a decent size. Lots of good restaurants in the area. Also a lot of drunk people and a bit dirty. The guys that worked there were very friendly and helpful. I'd stay here again for a slightly lower price.

Comfortable room, good location
We had a street-view room on the 2nd floor (American 3rd floor). The room was totally fine for our needs. The bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly. The breakfast was very good as it was buffet-style continental breakfast with cheeses, meats, eggs, bacon, cereal, etc. The hotel was easy walking distance to the metro (two stops on tram 5 from the Hauptbahnhof and Cathedral) and restaurants. The Cathedral and the high street (shopping) districts were walking distance. It was good to be away from the tourist area of Cologne. There was good WiFi. We would stay again.
