Not the ibis i am used to
Fire alarm was covered with a paper bag. Although booked for 2 plus a child there was only a double bed. Apparently updated in 2022 but didn’t look like it. Aircon was set to warm with no option to male it cooler. Sign says during winter it’s not possible to cool. Even with an open window it was still very warm. 25 degrees in fact by the time we left…

Good sized rooms that were clean. No tea or coffee facilities in the room. Mattress was very comfortable. Small breakfast area doing hot buffet is available but Macdonald's within walking distance. Would appreciate the towels being slightly larger and thicker.

I'll stay again.
Staff are so friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a good continental selection. Location has plenty of parking, and it's all free. Resturant has a varied menu, with generous portion sizes. Bed is fairly comfortable. Good no-frills hotel. Only 20 mins from Phantasialand!

Good for business stay
15 minutes walk away from center of Frechen situated in commercial, shopping center. Close to Motorway and by car easy reach to cologne and duesseldorf area - therefore a good price performance offering for the bisinesss traveller. Typical Ibis set up, you know what you get. Lobby a bit dated look and feel.

Convenient for motorway.
We were disappointed the room had no kettle or provision to make a hot drink. All we could see from our 1st floor window was a wall around a flat roof. In the brochure in the room it said the hotel would provide stamps at reception but during our 4 night stay there were none available and no efforts to provide any. Good location for travelling into Koln

In the warehouse district
Staff spoke little or no English. Not service oriented. Bus connection to Cologne was a challenge. Food was adequate but unremarkable. I found another hotel for the rest of my stay only 2 blocks from Köln HBF.at a comparable price. Much better staff and nicer facility. And better food and transportation options.

A below average first night in Cologne. Quite far from the centre and you would need to drive there. The night concierge insisted I had no reservation and continued to ignore me while serving other guests drinks instead of investigating my booking. I looked at the screen and saw my name on it all along after waiting 45 minutes. No apology was given and made to feel unwelcome

Good value and comfortable
The hotel is rated as 2-star which I think is unfair. It is not a luxurious hotel by any means but it is good value and clean and certainly worthy of 3 star. Rooms and bathrooms are of adequate size and not too small like the nearby Motel One. Food is typical of what you would expect in Germany, not too expensive and filling.

We stayed there one night on our travel back from Italy and Austria. It was the perfect stop and position, straight off the motorway. It’s very good value for money, the room was clean and the beds very comfortable. We had dinner outside in the evening, the quality of food was surprisingly good for a budget hotel. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I would stop over there again and recommend it to friends!

This was a really great hotel at an incredible price! Booked this for 4 of us with only minimal research and upon arrival was a little worried at the location and a few other things. Within 10 minutes any potential issues were sorted. It turned out we were very close (10 minute walk or 5 minute car journey) to the tram station that took us straight to downtown Cologne in 20 minutes. The rooms were clean, neat, and had everything we could need. Great little bathroom with a nice big shower. Only complaint is the toilet smelt a bit off, however we didn't complain or ask anyone about this so it may have been an easy fix.

Hotel was very nice, staff were friendly and helpful, dinner in the restaurant featured regional dishes and was reasonably priced. Breakfast was a little over-priced (10 euro/person) for a modest buffet. Location was convenient for motorway and getting to/from Koeln, but within a commercial area among large warehouse-style businesses.

Excellent hotel if you don't mind a walk
Stayed here for carnival weekend, a nice hotel, clean, good sized twin room and powerful shower. S-Bahn is a 15 min walk, but worth it for hotel value, trains are regular. Not much glamorous about Frechen location, basically a retail park, but it proved to be a good base. €18 for two day travel card. €25 for taxi to Cologne, or €55 to airport.
