"We recently stayed at the Gamboa Rainforest Reserve, and the hotel is ideally located right in the heart of the rainforest. There are plenty of activities available, and you can easily sign up for tours and excursions during your stay.
The staff were excellent. We had originally booked three nights but decided to shorten our stay to two nights, and the hotel accommodated the change without any issues. The food and service at the restaurants were exceptional.
The property is definitely showing its age, although the common areas appear to have been refurbished recently. The rooms, however, are in need of updating, particularly the bathrooms. We experienced an issue with rust falling from the shower door into the shower area every day, which was disappointing.
We also tried several of the tours offered by the resort, including the aerial tram and Lake Gatun boat ride. Both were excellent and very well organized, with knowledgeable and friendly tour guides who made the experiences especially enjoyable.
Overall, the location, staff, dining, and excursions were highlights of our stay. With some updates to the rooms and bathrooms, the property could be an even better experience."
