"Lovely, helpful staff, had a good room and the roof top bar with views up to the old city is great and good value for drinks and small bites (eg toasters). Would stay again and recommend to friends"

"Really lovely AL near the Mondego and a quick walk across the Santa Clara bridge into the old town. Lots of cute cafes and bars nearby as well. Will definitely stay again the next time we're in Coimbra."

"Minimalist property that still manages to be relaxing and comfortable with all needed amenities. I loved the stay here and would book a lodge like this in any city I am going to for solo travel. The staff was fantastic as well. Great location "

"Very charming boutique hotel occupying the space of an old pharmacy, thus the name. The lobby still has many of the old compounds in their original glass jars lightly back lit giving the room a warm glow. Very welcoming.
The room was very nice. Large bed with a comfortable spring mattress. Importantly the shower was great—strong water pressure and warm water.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Suggested some excellent restaurants and we can confirm they know their local area."

"Excellent parking, bed was good, room was clean. Nothing to do with hotel but if you enjoy walking from hotel into towns, at the start a busy road to cross. After that, easy. Overall very pleased with hotel. "

"Staff so friendly and welcoming. Clean rooms, beautiful design of bar/lobby/restaurant as well as rooms. Breakfast buffet had many choices and was delicious food. The hotel is located immediately below the historic university buildings. Our room had a spacious balcony on a quiet courtyard (autumn). The rooftop patio offers beautiful views of the city. Staff provided a free drink upon arrival, a free glass of wine at 6pm, and brought chocolate and a bedtime story to the room in the evening. This is our favorite hotel in Portugal, improved only if they would provide a kettle or coffeemaker in the room."
"Beautiful hotel. Very clean. Beds were incredibly comfortable. Parking was relatively easy, just behind the building. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was average (long wait times, mediocre food) but the included buffet breakfast was wonderful. Would stay here again."
"Great place to stay in Coimbra. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The property is fantastic with terrific views, too. There were a couple aggressive panhandlers (beggars) near the property, but we still rate this hotel 5 stars, so we loved it."
"Do not hesitate, a wonderful place whete you access great views typically Portugueese and a patio to enjoy it as well as a beautiful pool area. Staff there are adorable and care about our well-being. Woukd highly recommend!"
"Room was pleasant with a river view. I thought I had booked a double bed but the room had twin singles and we were told no double was available. Hotel didn’t seem especially busy but perhaps it was booked up."
