The Grand room was spacious, and I enjoyed being able to prepare most of our meals in the fully stocked kitchen. This saved a lot of money versus going out to eat for every meal. No horses or restaurant on site anymore. We played mini golf and enjoyed the pools and hot tub.

Reservation scam.
Visit was very disappointing because based on website I was led to believe I was getting a room in front of Lake Conroe but instead they gave me a cabin deep in the forest, far away from the lake. I complained abd they offered me an upgrade (and made it sound like they were doing me a big favor) for additional $85 or 90... Cabin was nice but not what I was planning for.

I liked the layout of the rooms . The kitchen was very well useable. The only suggestion I have is that on patio there needs to be a ceiling fan or maybe a fan in the corner in ceiling. There were some tiny flying insects on the patio and it was hard to sit out there. They didn't bite, just annoying. They also came inside. Every morning the stove was covered where they had came to nite light on microwave.

Overall, this place is great! Sure, the rooms are a little dated and with that comes some cleanliness issues- but overall we had a wonderful stay! It felt like we were at a summer camp sort of. Our kids (3 and 5) loved it.

Myself, daughter, and 2 grandchildren stayed in a 2 bedroom unit that had a kitchen, full sized fridge, and dishwasher. All utensils and dashes included with a small outdoor grill as well. VERY clean a quiet. The amenities are wonderful. Excellent service and plenty of children's activities.

Skip this “resort”! We had a power outage at our home, and called ahead to ask if we could check in earlier than 3pm since it’s so hot in Texas, and we needed to find a cool place to stay while my husband worked and used the Wi-Fi. The man we spoke to said it shouldn’t be a problem since they weren’t busy. We arrived at 12:30, and they said our room wouldn’t be ready until 2pm, so we went and got lunch and returned at 2. They said the room still wasn’t ready and it would be another hour. The kids played at the arcade and then after an hour they still said it would be another hour or so… WHAT?! I ended up taking the kids down to the pool while my husband stayed in the lobby to get work done, but our room wasn’t ready until after 5pm. It was so dead at the resort, I am unsure why they made us wait so long. The pools all felt like a hot tub, so no relief from the heat outside. When we got to our room, it was so outdated and the baths and sinks and dishwasher all were so old and stained with orange water stains. This place needs a SERIOUS overhaul. We were so glad our power was back on at our home the next morning so we could leave and go back home. We will never make the mistake of staying here again. Find a different holiday inn, or even a Hampton inn or spring hill suites or ANYTHING else. This was gross.

Exceptional service!
We had the best stay at Piney Shores and will definitely go back! Melissa worked in the recreation center and was amazing! My daughter and I didnt have a car to go up to the stables and she took the time to ride us up there on a golf cart. She even picked us up when our horse rides were over. The whole staff made us feel safe and comfortable during a unexpected weather event while painting in the rec center The staff up at the stables were awesome! Nina the main rangler was so kind to us and very friendly. All of the Ranglers were friendly and thoughtful of our questions and concerns. JB one of the general managers talked to my husband and I for a long time and made us feel like we had known him for years. Our whole experience at Piney Shores was fantastic! The accommodations and views from our grand villa were exceptional. Can't wait to stay there again.

Amazing vacation
Our stay at Piney Shores was remarkable. Our trip was 3 adults. The setting of this location is picturesque, we were so impressed with the area, the beauty, the pools, woods, lake, everything! And the amenities offered are amazing, we were able to take advantage of the horseback riding, the games in the activity center, the Friday outdoor movie and S’mores, and of course, the pools. We enjoyed a boat tour of the spectacular lake and had dinner over 3 nights at different restaurants on the lake. We can’t wait to visit again and stay at the presidential villas. The Villa was more than we expected. It was a shame we had to leave. Had a great view of the lake from our private balcony. This place is the Best!

A lot of spiders but fun for kids, like camping.
We only had a one night stay. I was looking forward to sitting on the balcony to rest and eat. Was so excited we had the water view but the balcony was disgusting. All spider webs, bugs, etc.. there was a broom in one of the closets so we did a little cleaning but there was still no way we could allow the kids out there or sit on the spiderweb filled chairs. That was the most disappointing. The room was clean and the grand 2 bedroom suite had a lot of space like an apartment. The amenities are fun. Don’t believe the staff.. I called the activity center and was told something and then the next morning was told something totally different. The sign said stables open everyday- the staff said oh no they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Website also needs to be updated because it says open. They didn’t have s’more night because they ran out of supplies the day before so they offered free popcorn instead. Kiddos were sad but they enjoyed the games at the activity center and the indoor pool. The website also needs to update the on-site restaurant, they extended the hours which was helpful. Mini golf was fun but needs a lot of work and landscaping to make it a whole lot nicer.

We arrived very late due to delays. Around 4am. Fortunately the security guard let us in and found our info on the front desk to allow us into our room. Despite our late arrival, the room was not prepared or ready for us to get the sleep we desired. The mattresses werent on the beds and the sheets were in the corners of the rooms, leaving us questioning the cleanliness.We waited until the front offices opened and were given a different room.
