This motel was absolutely disgusting. When I first entered the room I was overwhelmed by a foul stench. The lady at the office barely spoke English and when I explained that the room stunk, she acted irritated and thrust a can of febreeze at me. There were bugs crawling underneath the microwave. The towels had what looked like dried blood or excrement on them and I demanded new towels which I had to show the office lady so she could understand what I was asking for. Overall the room was deplorable and outdated. Stayed there out of absolute necessity and checked out 2 days early. Was given no refund but at that point I didn’t care. I felt like I should burn my clothes when I got home due to the bugs and foul stench. Would have given zero stars if that were an option.
This hotel is definitely outdated, except for the bed and a/c - the 2 most important pays for me. A/c was very quiet and the bed was SO comfortable! It is pet friendly, but there's not really a good spot for walking your dog on the property, though there is a large empty field across the street on the back side that my dog enjoyed! Pet fee is clearly posted at the check-in desk, along with additional fees that could be charged for smoking in a non-smoking room or having a non-disclosed pet!
The smell of nasty incense was hard to air out of the room it was bad at least they should use a neutralizer if they're going to burn that much incense in the office that it stinks up the entire hotel
This is probably the worst place I've stayed at. Got there and went right to bed, woke up the next day and went to take a shower and noticed there was blood on the shower curtain, boogers on the wall and dirty towels. When i unfolded the towel, 1/2 of it was brownish/yellow. I gathered my belonging and loaded them back into my car. I went to the front desk and told them that the room was disgusting and i was very displeased with the conditions of the room. When i first checked in i paid for 2 nights so i asked the gentleman at the front desk (the owner) if there was anyway i could be refunded the money for fhe second night because i was not going to be staying since it was so dirty. He refused and just kept saying "no refund" while shrugging his shoulders.
There was no one there to check you out. There was no coffee maker in the room no clean linens each day that you were there very unfriendly.

Add 2 bookings@ stayed the first night gound bugs in the bed, room and kitchen drawers
Am trying to get a full refund from the property( minus the first night) but still waiting for their response
It would be hard for me to believe that my one single room was so far off from the norm. But everything is dirty and rundown. The air does blow, but hardly. The floors were absolutely filthy. I wore shoes the whole time. I killed several little fruit flies with round wings every day. The fixtures in the ceilings were just bulbs in empty holes. The older guy at the front office didn't speak any English. Nor did he really try. If there are clean, nice rooms at this place mine was not one. I don't know if the good reviews are bots or possibly family members. But it's hard for me to understand why this location is on this app.
I couldn't stay here because if the smell and old dirty furnishings. Would not recommend.

This is an older property at the junction of 2 county (?) roads. Pluses: It's very convenient to Dale Hollow Dam and its recreation area, Also close enough to Cookvile for expanded lunch/dinner options. Minuses: It's old. Nothing terrible, but just don't expect resort or 5-star quality. Because it sits between 2 roads, ask for their quietest room. We didn't experience road noise (mid-May), bit it's possible. A bar was also being renovated on the property - when it opens this may affect sleeping

Very clean, definitely needs updating on outside to show it's still open for business. Support lical is why we found it on Expedia.
Very comfortable beds and clean.
Unfortunately we cleaned our own floor upon checking into the room. I realize it is an inexpensive option but mopping a floor is not difficult. It only worked because we were looking for an inexpensive place before fishing. If inexpensive and you can tolerate a place that isn’t 3 star it works

Overton motel
The room was at 42 degrees when arriving. The room was booked 24 hours in advance. Someone could have turned the heat on to at least 60. There is no water pressure for a shower.
It’s not bad if you need a cheap place to stay, but they do ask for a deposit of cash once you get there but you get it back when you leave if you ask for it, if not your out of luck. We stayed last night since we are in the process of moving homes and brought a few refrigerated food with us from our old house so the kids could snack on it if needed (about 60$ worth) Check out is suppose to be at 11 and we are locals so we didn’t have much belongings with us when we stayed (except the food and a bag of clothes which I took with me when I left, I just left the food so it wouldn’t go bad), so when we got up at 7am to get the kids to school and get breakfast we came back about 9:15sh to grab the food out the fridge and check out, as soon as I walked in the room I noticed it was clean and all my food was gone. I tried to asked about it but they just ignored what I was trying to say and just gave me my deposit back. Not really a big deal but just sucks lost out of 60$
