"John was an absolute gent, the property was beautiful and he even offered to take us to the local wine flair and shop to grab some essentials - only complaint was the bed was springy and creaky but apart from that we had a great time, thank you John 👍👍👍"
"Wi-Fi was terrible, couldn't get any work done and there was one particualr person on reception who wasn't helpful whatsoever, but there was a lovely gentleman who made up for it and went above and beyond. The room was huge - brilliant! "
"Friendly staff at check in and during the stay, room was spacious and luxurious. Golf course was great and staff in pro shop very welcoming, will stay again"
"This property was amazing. The Inn Keeper was very friendly and informational about the area. The room was clean and very cute. We would stay here again in a minute!"

"This is a charming hotel that goes above and beyond. They think of all of the amenities from robes and slippers and candles and matches. We had high tea in the restaurant, which was just ok, they didn’t give us a selection of tea and the portion sizes were much too large. "
"Stayed at Canal Court Hotel in Newry – great central location, spacious clean room, friendly staff. Breakfast was good and the bar had a friendly band play"
"Had an absolute fantastic stay at the Briers, Darren and his staff couldn't be more accommodating and helpful!
The room was spotless, very comfortable, gorgeous views of the garden and surrounding landscape as well.
Breakfast was delicious and very well laid out , with loads of choice !
Excellent all round, would have no hesitation in recommending the Briers as a place to stay! "
Grand Hillsborough Castle is the official residence for the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, and is where members of the British Royal Family customarily reside when in the country. In 1920, this 18th century Georgian manor was sold by the sixth Marquess of Downshire to the British government (it is not actually a castle and the name Hillsborough derives from the Hill family that built it, and the surrounding village). Since then, it has played host to numerous British and foreign dignitaries, including former President George W Bush.
