"The accommodation was disappointment. Not only did I find that there was an addition £12.50 to pay for parking at the property, which was not specified in the booking. The property is clearly advertised as having doors that open from the lounge to the outside sea front. On arriving at the property I found the doors from the lounge locked and no key available to unlock them. When calling the reception I was told that they had been locked for "security" reasons and could not be opened. It appears...

"Needlessly complicated check in process - why did I have to supply my ID? There is no UK legal requirement for this and most places don't do it. The booking app has my details if anything goes wrong. My room (6) was in a dark lower basement, not listed as such. I asked for upstairs room which was available but it did not have a cooking stove. Decor bit naff but place was essentially clean and comfortable with proper bedside tables, and reading lights. There was an issue with the hob which I...

"The studio apartment was spotless, the staff friendly and welcoming.
It was great place to stay, right in the city centre and right on the edge of the historic part of the city - ideal for a short break."

"We have stayed at Astor house before so we came back to the same apartment.
They had upgraded the sofas to recliners which was a nice surprise.
The apartment itself is easy to get to clean and Torquay town centre is a short walk away.
It has a great view over the beach side of Torquay and the area is quiet.
The place is clean and well maintained and the host kindly provided some biscuits and milk.
I would highly recommend this place."

"The advert on the hotels.com website did not match the facts of the stay. The advert states free parking it was not it cost me £30 for the stay. We spoke to the owner who stated that the advert was not placed by him. It was the fault of hotels.com as he does not use them you get your info from a 3rd party All I know is that I am £30 out of pocket. The stay was good as I can not blame hotels.com for all the rain."

"Nice modern hotel, with air con that was clean, well maintained with comfortable beds. Only one of three EV chargers was working and non electric cars often parked in spaces in front of chargers."
"Once past the tired exterior, we were greeted by Hassan (site manager). He was very friendly and patient when guiding all nine of us through how to use the coded doors. He genuinely couldn‘t do enough for us over our week‘s stay, from providing extra tea/coffee to giving advice on local attractions and places to go.
All five rooms booked were clean and comfortable. They had provided fans in every room before our arrival due to the current heat wave.
The two pools were fantastic. The outdoor pool was open for use from Monday morning. It was plenty big enough to enjoy, and we all took advantage of it every day of our stay.
Members of our family used the steam room, sauna, and pool table.
Although they only sell a select few drinks, they are happy for you to have your own and provide an ice machine, which came in handy whilst sitting on the balcony enjoying the outdoor space and chatting till late. Even the local fox gave a brief appearance.
Overall, we all had a great time and without a doubt we will be back next year."
"This was our second stay here as a family and my third visit overall, and once again we had a fantastic stay. It's become somewhere we genuinely enjoy returning to. The location is perfect, with the shops and restaurants just a short walk away, and lots of public transport, making it ideal for families.
Breakfast was excellent and very reasonably priced. There was a great selection including a full cooked breakfast, cereals, porridge, yoghurt, pastries, seeds, raisins and plenty more. The giant Nutella pump was definitely the highlight for our children!
One thing that really stood out throughout our stay was the staff. Everyone was so friendly, approachable and happy to help. The breakfast area was always kept clean, with staff constantly clearing and wiping tables. One evening I asked if I could have a bowl, spoon and some milk to take back to our room, and they didn't hesitate, they were more than happy to help, which was really appreciated. We also loved the 11am checkout, which made our last morning feel much more relaxed.
My only very minor comments, were that we moved one of the beds so it was against the wall and noticed it was a little dusty with some dirt underneath. There also appeared to be a burn mark on the bath. Neither issue affected our stay at all, but they're worth mentioning as they were the only things stopped the room from feeling absolutely perfect. Overall, another wonderful stay, we look forward to staying again :)"
"The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and spotless. We had a beautiful view of the ocean from our room, which was very spacious. The bed was quite comfortable and the rooms seemed to be sound-proof because it was so quiet and relaxing. Livermead beach is located across the street; the beach is beautiful, but the sand disappears at high tide, so be sure to plan your beach day around this. We also loved the stunning views from the rooftop terrace bar. We would love to return to Torquay and stay here again!"
