"I booked Rocky Gap Resort to celebrate a birthday milestone. Two requirements I was looking for was room service and a spa.
Upon check in I was told that room service had been discontinued several months ago, yet it was still offered on the website.
When I book spa treatments I enjoy a little pampering. A nice fluffy robe, slippers, and a relaxing atmosphere. While the massage therapist was ok, I went in, had my massage, and walked out. Nothing special. No robe, no lounge area, no offer of a beverage afterwards.
The location of the resort is very pretty, but that's it. I think it's more geared to golf.
Very disappointed."
"The room was good for an overnight stay. The one MAJOR drawback was the lack of elevator. I was placed on the third floor and had to walk three flights of stairs.
That is something that should be put in your hotel description."
"The property is a beautifully restored home with large rooms, each with its own bathroom. Wonderful mattresses and pillows, great communal spaces and a fantastic covered porch to enjoy a provided beer or wine in the afternoon. Deborah, the host, was very pleasant and welcoming. We we biking the GAP, and the property is right off the trail with plenty of areas to lock up your bikes (outside or inside a garage).
Breakfast was a creamy egg and broccoli bake, sourdough toast, Greek yogurt with strawberries and granola and fresh coffee…more than enough to fuel our day’s ride.
Be prepared for nightly trains, but there is no other option to escape as the train runs through town. Otherwise this is your top pick in Meyersdale! Definitely would stay again."
"Was assigned to a third floor room facing the railroad (which I requested being a railfan) Room was clean and comfortable. It had the usual heat/AC unit below the room window but with a thermostat on the wall. The AC worked very well.
The hotel needs to hire a window cleaning contractor as the exterior of the room window was very dirty, looked like it hadn't"
"Room was not clean , hair in the shower , carpets were stained , smelled musty , ended up not staying and lost $ 124 .00 , don’t stay here , you will be disappointed."
"The free parking (which was excellent) was confusing. In order to obtain a parking dongle, you had to check in but there was no where to park when you were trying to check in. Also, if you didn't return the parking dongle, you were charged $20 but you can't exit the parking garage without the dongle. Therefore, you have to exit the garage and find somewhere to park so you can return the dongle and finish checking out. They need to come up with a better method of enabling parking access."
