La Bastide du Calalou Hotel & Spa, BW Premier Collection
10/10 Excellent
"We did not know what to expect but we’re very happy and delighted with the quality of the property. It’s a gorgeous setting. Excellent facilities with tennis court and spa.
Outdoor pool area was very clean and tidy with lots of sun loungers under the shade.
There is a fantastic waiter service serving drinks and fruit platters to the poolside although the little call buzzer wasn’t working when we stayed.
The staff are very helpful and work very hard but it can feel like no one works here at times as they stay in the background.
The food was really good and they have a great wine selection. We dined twice in the restaurant which was bustling and had a great atmosphere. Glad we booked at table.
We didn’t opt for breakfast every morning instead found little Boulangeries for croissants and coffees which is all we needed.
We had the junior suite on the first floor which was perfect for 2 adults and 2 children as there was a changing area and large bathroom with walk in shower and bath and a separate toilet. Loads of places to put clothes.
The little village nearby is very small and has no shops or bars except one restaurant which doesn’t open for breakfasts or morning coffees."
"Highly recommend. Amazing staff with a great smile at every corner. Amazing food, amazing view and location. Bathrooms are super clean, but need updating. The views are incredible almost dreamy when you see it."
"Interesting property , set on a large estate that is constantly being maintained to provide a relaxing and unique experience. We enjoyed a beautiful suite in a converted home which provided a large common area being used by only a handful of suites. Parking was at my back door ( pay parking , but very convenient ) . Our suite had a private back patio with an intimate table for two setting and a coy pond ! very clean and well maintained suite . They staff were very helpful and attended to our every request. Both restaurants on site are excellent but I would encourage reservations as they are very popular with the locals. I would certainly recommend the Lou Calon ."
"This is a very affordable, clean well maintained hotel in a newer shopping area of the city that is within a short walking distance of about 15 mins of the older part of the city and the main basilica that people come there to see. The staff was very helpful with directions and providing info on a local ride service needed to access some od the main attractions in the area. Can highly recommend this place"
