My stay here was fine. Only complaints are that the walls/floors are thin and I could hear my neighbours through the night. Also when I signed in, the host didn’t have the right change to give me so she told me to return for my $1 later. When I returned, nobody knew what I was asking about and ultimately I was overcharged :(
The hostel has the potential to be really great with fab communal area, hammocks and fires in the rooms. However slightly oddly they called us in for dinner about an hour before it was ready and we were sat in the dark and cold (as there’s been a power cut) waiting. We asked for some wood to help light the fire which took a couple of hours for them to sort out, when they did they poured a lot of petrol on it so the room smelled bad all night. The customer service just seemed not quite there yet.
It was cheap overall though and good location to the crater to start the walk.
Nice little place, though a bit cold inside. The room was cozy and the staff lit the wood-burning stove for us as we were finishing dinner. Meals were tasty enough. We had a minor issue with the toilet tank running constantly overnight but the staff addressed it immediately when we notified them in the morning. All of the staff members we interacted with were excellent.

Great location but very cold and bed was ok... Food was also OK. Need more heating and warmer water to justify the price
