"We reserved a room with a pool view. For reasons unknown the staff was rude from the beginning. On the way to the room my partner commented he was wondering why is she angry, referring to the lady that checked us in. We were given a room with a view of the gravel parking lot. The room had a very strong musty odor. To see even a small corner of the pool we had to step outside the room a few steps. When I showed them my reservation was for a room with pool view the man got his phone and rudely said this is your name you have that room. He was not going to give us the room with a pool view that I reserved on Orbitz. We went to the room to discuss the situation. Between the foul odor, not so nice room, not having our reservation honored and the conduct of the staff , there was no way we would be comfortable staying there. There are too many other affordable nice places with wonderful staff, clean fresh smelling rooms in the area to ever stay at this place. For a few dollars more we stayed at an amazing little resort just a short distance away. I travel a lot and on a budget, I didn’t have high expectations for this place but they failed across the board. Even at the price I paid I was disappointed. "

"Resort is excellent - beautiful grounds, pool is absolutely wonderful, restaurant onsite is good and service and staff are exceptional. Location is also great - an easy walk to the beach, many restaurants are very close. Room was clean, spacious and super comfortable. Highly recommend Bathala!"

"A beautiful relaxing resort. The landscape of the grounds are so beautiful and well maintained. There is a lap pool which you can walk out to from some rooms. There's also a larger pool with pool bar near. Gorgeous! Rooms are very comfortable. The staff is beyond exceptional! Breakfast daily was very good. My second time here and I'll never stay anywhere else at Alona. The road Into the resort is bumpy and that's an understatement! But trikes, bikes, and cars will come to get you. Not the resorts fault the road is in bad condition. Surprised best western nearby doesn't fix it. The owner Barry is a great guy. 22 years of love into this place. It's not as close to beach as others but well worth it to live in paradise and then take rides to your destination! Highly recommend!!! "

"This hotel was amazing, the rooms were fantastic, the breakfast buffet was delicious, but the staff were the best. I believe their names were Joan (there were 2 ladies named Joan) and Shem (I didn't get the spelling), they were the most helpful and nicest people ever at the breakfast buffet. I highly recommend this hotel. The only drawback, they really didn't want you swimming in the ocean - the first time they said it was after 5 and no lifeguard was on duty, the second time it was the middle of the day and they said no lifeguard on duty. There were several groups wanting in, finally they brought a lifeguard and we were able to get in water. They really need to fix that - just let it be swim at your own risk. Snorkeling didn't seem to be that great, clear water but not much to see. "

"Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were large, clean and well maintained. Nice pool on the property. Food and drinks delicious and reasonably priced. We loved our two weeks stay at Amihan resort!"
