"The Auberge de l’Abbatiale is a wonderful small family run hotel with excellent accommodation in a historic and very interesting building. Very friendly owner and staff. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious. Thoroughly recommended as a stop off point while travelling through France as it is located in a picturesque historic village fairly close to an exit on the A31 (13 km away). Half way between Calais and the south of France."
"Great host, multi lingual, welcoming, great sense of humour. Unique, quirky, property. Lovely village location with river/canal walks nearby. Great breakfast.
Ideal overnight stop."
"Property is quite beautiful in a shabby chic kind of way, although the ground is relatively small. Food is decent, but nothing too memorable. We didn’t realise it has a Michelin star, so decided to pay the premium as we didn’t want to go out after a long drive from Calais. Restaurant service was not great to be honest, we had to keep asking for our wine glass to be replenished, even though they didn’t seem to be short of staff.

"Our second visit to the premises, so no surprises. The owners offer comfortable accommodation. It is nice to stay here in the premises producing high quality champagne. Travel to Bar sur Aube for good food at reasonable prices. A good find last year and continues to be so"
"Amazing owners. Top friendly people.
They really look after you.
Lovely breakfast. Easy safe parking for my motorcycle.
Chaumont is a nice town too. Lots of choices for eating etc."
