The owners are gradually updating the property, which when finished will be a tranquil haven. The staff are excellent, friendly and a real asset to the hotel. Great location for trips into Dartmouth and Salcombe.

Great stay

Hotel was a brilliant base for a short stay to visit family. Very evident that the owners have spent a considerable sum upgrading the hotel, in areas its modern clean and finished to a lovely standard. Some retro features like our room door lock still remain but ultimately don’t matter. Great staff, great breakfast each morning. Look forward to returning in the summer!

Excellent value for money for a small but well equipped hotel. Newish owners clearly making some cosmetic improvements. Only constructive feedback would be that it wasn’t always easy to identify who were members of staff and who were guests. Would definitely stay again

Charming in a laid back, whats wrong with the 70's

If you want a laid back hotel, with friendly staff, that feels like your staying at some old aunts house, who has just given up with trying to stay modern, this is a great place to go retro! Staff are so friendly, just in some time warp!

We were having a wonderful time . On arrival we were told our booking had been amended to include breakfast which was a lovely surprise/ gesture. Spa was great. Room clean & comfortable . All going well ! Then during the second night I was taken ill , husband had to take me to hospital , then drive back to check out . This was when he was charged for the breakfasts which we’d been told were complimentary. Obviously hubby not too thrilled but didn’t want to make a fuss as there were other guests around and he was in a hurry to get back to hospital which was some distance away. Real Shame. Don’t promise something then not deliver - better to have not promised in the first place . We didn’t book breakfasts so we wouldn’t have been disappointed had they not “upgraded our booking . But to then be charged was very disappointing. Such a shame because otherwise it was a lovely stay. Was going to book again and recommend to friends and family but probably won’t do now. The breakfast issue has left a bitter taste sadly.

This is a family run hotel that felt welcoming and safe. We stayed in a huge family room with bank beds and a cot bed for our 3 little ones. The hotel employees were very kind and accommodating. Best place to stay in Dartmouth if you have a family. There is an outdoor and indoor pool with spa. Very close to the beaches and woodlands theme park.

After an initial mistake with our booking which was my mistake, we eventually got to enjoy 2 out of our 3 night booking. I'm so glad we did, it was our 28th wedding anniversary and we had such a lovely time. The outdoor pool was a real bonus for me. Great being so close to Dartmouth and Slapton, both places we love.
