"Room was clean but didn't smell fresh. Couldn't open bathroom door fully due to elongated toilet bowl. Bed linen was clean. Breakfast was pretty good.
Picked hotel because I was pulling trailer and it said plenty of trailer parking space but only had a standard parking lot. Was able to park taking up 2 spots."
"An updated classic with a small jazz ensemble for a wide-choices Sunday brunch, a in-house cafe and coffee shop, and restaurant. The hotel since its renewal opening a decade or so ago is now tasteful, quality, yet dated non-shabby chic.
We were assigned a large but junior suite. Cherry wood cabinet full kitchen, black and blue granite à la 2000, over polished oak floors, pit-group living room, sumptuous bathroom with nice amenities, comfort and style.
When I stay in Davenport, I always stay at the BlackHawk. The Current is also an autograph property should the BlackHawk be booked. You can choose other properties that fail in many aspects or choose the BlackHawk. I’ve shared my choice…
One concern: when walking in the main entrance off the parking lot, note the unstaffed desk littered with someone’s work. The luggage carts are found beside it. Help yourself, as no one else will. Next walk down a long corridor to check-in. Note, there are not luggage carts here. While there, if you parked in the property parking lot, ensure to ask for the parking token. No one shares you will need one, but trust me, you do.
To Marriott: maybe a walk-in review of the check-in process. Thinking about staffing placement, signage, guest flow. What separates a great property from a nice property…making guest movement and needs effortless in a luxury setting with a kind, professional and attentive staff. Your phone is ringing…pick it up."
"The toilet seat was very loose and sliding all over. The shower needs something on the floor dangerously slippery. Baseboard was missing small piece by the bathroom.
Breakfast was kind confusing as we were not told when we went in we needed to order omelets or special type eggs at that time, by the time we found out we had to wait quite awhile before the omelet was ready and our other food was already done or cold. Surprising no orange juice on the buffet. Little things but overall stay was enjoyable except at 11:30 when fire alarm went off and no one knew why when firemen got there. People on sixth floor said there alarm in their room never went off."
