The bathroom is the reason for the bad review. Dirty towel folded over tub. Looks like blood stains on the wall over toilet with long hair hanging on the seat. Water pressure in shower is the worst I’ve seen. Oceanfront Balcony was great. Loved it. Easy access to the beach. Because of the bathroom I wouldn’t return.

The property was very dated and just plain OLD. There was rust on everything that was metal, the window was filmy, and the tub was ancient. The bed was ok, but the pillows weren’t comfortable. I won’t be staying here again.

You get what you pay for. The shower was covered in mold, the pool was ice cold, so many things in the room were broken. It looked like the apartment hadn’t ever had a deep cleaning. Almost like all they do is spray disinfectant on everything but don’t scrub it. However, we were right on the beach and that was the best part! For the price we paid, it made the moldy bathroom and broken apartment tolerable.

My husband and I stayed for two nights and what we loved was the proximity to the beach. Our own private entrance to the beach made it extra special. If we could change one thing it would be that you offer a breakfast at least on the weekends.

So I stayed in the main building on the second floor. There were three ways to get up there so you can be as social or introverted as you'd like. The rooms word exactly what you pay for very basic but included a microwave fridge and coffee pot, with the TV of course. Nothing was broken and even with the sand it was relatively clean. As I usually do with my end of stay housekeeping help I'll remove the sheets and fold them up for them. I highly recommend you don't do that. They would only replace the towels and trash during your stay and you would have to manually put them out in the front which is not a big deal and made me feel very good about leaving my belongings in my room. Sheets can be changed on request though I did not partake in that so I have no info on that matter. However every single person who works there and stayed there were absolutely friendly! the front desk lady is my absolute favorite person here in Florida she's such a sweetheart!!! There are three different back patio sections one being a lounge area and the other a pool area was plenty of lounge space then above those two were the dining tables which had a grill on it and a sun deck overlooking the beach. There were two staircases leading to the beach which were in great condition. If you were looking for a nice cheap getaway this is absolutely the place to do it at.

Noise throughout the evening that sounded like construction. Dog owners letting their dogs walk around off leash and approach you barking. Cigarette smoke wafts into the rooms (sometimes marijuana smoke) because the ash trays are right outside of the rooms. Room floors were dirty.

Nice hotel right on the beach. Big clean pool. Clean beach area. Big hotel room was also very clean. Beautiful view of the beach out our room windows. Absolutely loved that there was a dehumidifier in our room and a fan in our bathroom!!! Our towels and swimsuits dried every evening and we didn’t feel damp in our room. All the staff was nice and courteous. Got us anything we needed.

I love the ocean view however; the property is very old and outdated. There were holes in the walls, gaps and/or rotten wood to the doors. Balcony was dirty and i asked fir a smoke free room which is nit what i git. Ash trays in the front seating area and patio area. Office heaped of cigarette smoke so much it was hard to breathe while inside. Noisy dogs throughout the night. The mattress in the bed was as hard as bricks and caused back pains, and body aches for me and my young grandchildren. I will never patronize this property and do not recommend it. Staff looked as if theyed slept on the streets all night. The ONLY happy thing about this property was the beach view and access and the outdoor poor area.

I hate to write bad reviews. We did not have a good stay at the Driftwood Beach Motel in Daytona Beach. I decided to look for a place on Expedia. I have to say I will never look for a place on Expedia again. It was very misleading. The good thing about our stay was the Driftwood accommodated our late arrival by leaving a note with directions on how to get our room key. We were able to get in to our room. The bad…the room had a strong smell of bleach. It was very thick and was almost unbearable to breathe. There were beard shavings around the bathroom sink faucet and on the frame of the bathroom mirror. Pet hair on the bed spread and sand in the bed. There were people banging on other room doors to get in. You could hear everything in every room around us. The bed was so uncomfortable we had to take pain meds for our back. The shower had black mold in the cracks. The room itself was just run down. It needed TLC and a real good clean. I would not recommend the Dritwood to anyone. Very disappointing. Just looking for the basics at least. If you’re thinking about staying at the Driftwood…do not do it! My review has been rejected for the third time now.

The positive: Nice ocean view; bed seemed newer, comfortable mattress, newer stainfree comfortable sheets. Smaller things that make a difference that were missing: Could've used a notepad, pen, clock, Kleenex, non-slip adhesive strips on a slippery tub. Also, please buy some wall-mounted door knob stops to prevent holes in the wall. Finally, don't turn off your sign at night! Alot of these are easy, inexpensive fixes that can be remedied with a trip to Costco/Walmart and Home Depot. If you can work on getting the little things correct, then you can focus on working on newer furniture in the room, paint, caulking and overall improvement to appearance. Guests can tell if you care or not. With so many choices on this part of the beach, I'd pick a different place to stay if I was coming down again.

Decent place, no problems. Older hotel and price was jacked up due to being Daytona 500 weekend. Would consider staying here again if the price is right. We prefer staying on the beach so didn’t gawk too much about the higher rate

Omg we pulled up at this hotel i wanted to cry!!! It was in a bad neighborhood nothing against homeleas people or drug addicts but they were outside hotel up and down the eoads acary! Then we went into room and immediately turned around and they gave us aother room it had poop in toilet disxuted me so bad! So we got anotger room bugs crawling everywhere on walls mexicans hanging all along upstairs loud music no door on bathroom long story short It was a nightmare

It was great to be so close to the beach. Repair on bathroom not completed. Details like caulking, molding not finished. Lower kitchen cabinet doors by sink were filthy. Chairs outside by room not clean. Refrigerator not defrosted. Outside area provided lots of seating and pool looked clean. Staff not friendly when arrived. Sprinkler system should go off before 7am. Still on at 8 so got wet when going to car or back area to take steps to beach.
