Was a good hotel to stay at. Of course there was a price surge but it was during Sturgis so to be expected. Older hotel but clean. Beds are very comfortable

Didn’t want to pay the prices in Deadwood, so chose Spearfish. Good location. This is a dated property but they do their best to keep it open at nice summer rates. While in Spearfish, make sure to visit the fish hatchery. Short drive to Spearfish Canyon and Deadwood.

Well, we have stayed at this property multiple times for its location and affordability. It is definetly older, but they are trying. Last stay door knob kept falling off. They are in the process of replacing them. This time a new handle was replaced. This time no blow dryer in the room. The pool is permanently closed as well. But overall, the room is clean and shower is hot. And staff is friendly. So we will continue to book lodging here.

Pluses: The motel is conveniently located off the interstate. I was able to find reasonable rates as well. Breakfast was good. Shower was hot. Microwave & frig in room. Some updates. Staff is friendly. Negatives: parking lot can get alittle tight . Back side door is usually propped open by a rock, which causes me concerns if mice get in. Older property that they are trying to maintain. Our door handle kept falling off. Beds are alittle in the soft side. Could use paint touch ups. We have stayed multiple occasions, but hope they continue to make updates.

Our pillows didn’t have any pillowcases and then the bed sheets had some things on and in them. Along with that the bathroom door didn’t shut and the room had a musty smell to it. But the staff was great and overall was an ok stay for the price.

The swimming pool and hot tub are permanently closed. The window in our room was broken, the toilet seat was missing an anchor screw, the safety latch on the door was broken, the microwave and fridge were missing and no garbage can. The bedding was clean and comfortable

So the staff were super nice and friendly. However the rooms were set up really weird with a lot of dead space and the ac was in another room not even in the bedroom which made the bedroom stuffy and hot. The TV’s didn’t work and the curtains didn’t keep out any light so it was very bright. Our room also smelled like a smoker had been in there at some point. The shampoo was also half used.

When we checked in we were informed that they did not have room keys so if we left we would have to find staff to get back in the room. All inside and outside doors were propped open. Pool had no water the restaurant was a pizza ranch, so no breakfast was available. Air conditioner knows were broken so there was no way to adjust the temp. You either froze or got over heated. No elevator and no luggage carts.

I should’ve known things were amiss when we walked in the front door to be greeted by a sign that the pool and hot tub were closed. Then we discovered the bathroom light didn’t work. A 4” shank sticking out of the bed frame got me in the ankle. The tub was quite dirty. The hair dryer didn’t work either. My sister in law advised me that this is the business model followed by Baymont by Wyndham. It seems a shame to have a beautiful property in the Black Hills, right off I-90, totally unprepared for tourist season. Caveat emptor!

The employee/night auditor seemed rather rude or off-putting when I first entered the hotel, but was more professional and respectful while checking me in. Quiet, clean hotel conveniently located just off of Interstate 90. Thank you!

While the check in was superb and the room was very clean, the breakfast could use a lot of work. There was a nice selection of teas but no water for it. The juice dispenser was out of order for how long. Where was the milk for the cereal? All in all, a very disappointing breakfast offering!
