The kindest, most knowledgeable and attentive staff who could not have been more welcoming or helpful in organizing such meaningful experiences and guides. Delicious traditional food and beverages served up as you would dream. It is THE place to stay in Lalibela. We can’t wait to return already. "

"Even though Expedia advised the hotel provided an airport shuttle that was not the case! Due to the petrol crisis I was advised by the hotel upon advising of my delayed flight that I would have to find transportation myself. A very kind stranger from my flight, managed to get a driver/taxi to take me to my hotel. Upon arriving I had to pay 2000 bir which was a lot by their standards. I know I’ve been fleeced but what can you do and they have been hit badly by the petrol crisis! "

"One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. The room was barren with fluorescent lighting that made it feel like a prison. It is old and falling apart. There was no hot water. The lock on the door fell into pieces and I was trapped in the room. At 7:30 p.m. the dining room and bar were deserted and the place felt like it was the setting for a Stephen King novel. Breakfast was inedible. The only redeeming feature was the staff who were friendly and apologetic for all of the problems. Microphones from the nearby church started chanting at 2:00 a.m. and went non-stop through the morning. This place is an embarrassment to the Haile hotel chain."
